It runs lengthwise. 5ft = width, 1ft = length.

Im looking to wrap the roof and a cowl hood on my 06 f150. i want the satin black but what size roll should i get. and should i get the knife less edg

You do not need knifeless tape, just remove the side weather stripes when wrapping. As far as measurements go, rolls are 5ft by Xft. Usually the width is less than 5ft, so measure the length of the hood and give it a foot or so extra.

Do the brushed marks run length wise or width wise on this product?

It runs lengthwise which is 1ft on this size of roll.
