Dryer works well
This dryer gets hot 🔥... it dries hair well. Couldn't figure out what the long string. (For those of us who hate to read directions; it is to let the hose stretch out and to draw it back in 🤪. Overall the dryer works well.

NOT JUST FOR DRYING HAIR WORKS GREAT FOR DEEP CONDTIONING
I use mine for weekly deep conditioning treatmentsI have had mine for years, and recently noticed the bonnet had a tear in itI didn't save my box so I didn't have the model number and I certainly didn't remember if the bonnet came off to even replace it.I didn't want to throw the whole thing away if the bonnet was easily replaceableSo I searched the reviews and questions on Amazon, to see if people have replaced their bonnet, and where to get them. Not seeing anyone posting in reviews or questions, that replace theres or where to get one, I ordered a whole new dryerTHE BONNET IS REPLACEABLE and all it took was a call to ConairIf you tear your bonnet like I did after many years of use, nothing lasts forever, call Conair @ 1-800-326-6247 (The cost a whole $4.77)After I received this new hair dryer really hating the idea of throwing out the perfectly good dryer, and seeing that inside the box, the bonnet was packaged separately proving it can be taken off, I realized what would it hurt to call them. I will be receiving my new bonnet in 7-10 days,,, and rather than returning this dryer, I am keeping this dryer I just ordered for my friend...Save your hair and your money from all the processing and do the deep condtioning with this safe, relaxing in your favorite chair in your own home, and if your bonnet tears YOU CAN REPLACE ITIf you have thrown out your box like I did here is al you need to know:The model number is SB1XR1-800-326-6247Located:Conair CorporationEast Windsor, NJ 08520I use mine for weekly deep conditioning treatments, and this is how it works:You MUST have a LOW profile shower cap with a SATIN LINING ( I have a lot of hair, and once you put all the conditioner on it I can fit my hair very easily into a low profile cap) UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES EVER PUT ANY METAL CLIPS ON YOUR HAIR DURING THIS TREATMENTIf your shower cap is not low profile the air WILL not circulate around the head the way that it shouldIf your shower cap does not have a satin lining it defeats the purpose of protecting your hair from burning and drying out the conditionerTighten up the string to fit your headPut a towel around your neckMake sure the hose is placed at the back of your head for even heat distribution (because the hose gets hot to, the towel keeps it up off your neck and if any condtioner drips out it does so on the towel not down your neckHow to keep the bonnet from slipping over your face, Place the edge of the bonnet just above your shower cap, (just above your hairline in the front) that you have under the bonnet, if it is still falling, you need to pull the adjustment string tighterthen just sit back and relaxAlways remember, as with any heated conditioning, ALWAYS let your HAIR AIR COOL off completely before rinsing off conditioner

Great device for those who want to dry braids!
Used to dry my cornrows and it worked well but it did take a while. In total I had to sit under it for about 1.5 hours. But it beats air drying or using a handheld dryer so I'll take it.

Works well....when you can get it on
NEW REVIEW: Having lived with this thing for a year now I am labeling it junk. The hose does not stay attached to the bonnet; and even if you can get it to stay put the bonnet is unusable unless you're using pincurls. I am VERY disappointed in this thing. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Back in the '60s I had a bonnet hair dryer that worked beautifully and did not require a struggle to use. The bonnet of this miserable machine is not designed for curlers. It does not open wide enough to accommodate them. I have to maneuver, stuff and struggle to get the curlers in the bonnet -- and, being older with fine, thinning hair, there are not that many curlers. Then getting the hose to stay attached to the bonnet requires the assistance of my husband. It's compact and self-stores the hose and cord in a light-weight case, but those things do not offset the unpleasantness of the struggle to use it. I actually dread washing my hair and the attendant thought of using this miserable contraption.

Works but a very poor design
I bought this because I was hoping to save myself some time and energy drying my hair. I started washing my hair at night to save me some hassle in the morning and I wanted to be able to sit and watch television or go online while my hair was drying. I remembered using a tabletop dryer when I was young because there was no such thing as a blow dryer! LOL. This product works quite well, and I was surprised that my hair had quite a bit of volume, which I really like for my wavy thick hair. I also have fine hair so it's difficult to style. My problem is mainly with the tank, I guess what you would call it? The two times I opened the storage compartment, I had to get a knife out of my kitchen to release the little door because the notch where you put your finger to open it is very small and not smooth. Plus it locks very tightly and my fingers aren't strong enough to open it. Also, the compartment is too small and I really struggled to put the cord and the tubing back into the compartment. I finally gave up because it was so late at night. After setting it up, putting the Bonnet on and trying to get everything put back together, I could have had my hair dried with a regular blow dryer and already been to bed.My last comment is, that I guess the tubing needs to go up the back of your head and I had it on the side because that's where the tank was sitting and the air was not flowing all the way around my head. If I use it again I would put it around the back but that would definitely make it more difficult to use it anywhere that I would sit. I agree with other people saying that the tubing is too short. It probably should be twice as long. I do appreciate the long power cord, however. I have not decded but I'm about 90% sure I will return it and try one that connects to my personal blow dryer. All in all, if you are not looking for something as a timesaver, I think you will like this bonnet dryer. But, if you don't like the hassle of opening and closing the compartment and getting the Bonnet on correctly, you may not appreciate this as well as some people do.
