A taste that is true to the tradition of an early Americana favorite soda.
I bought the mixed 12 pack because I wasn't sure which brand of sarsaparilla I would prefer. The bottles come in a corrugated cardboard box and are individually wrapped in bubble wrap. So there are no worries about breakage while shipping.I thought the price of the 12 pack was expensive. The price of shipping is also added no matter how much you spend. This is a definite turnoff, but I couldn't find sarsaparilla anywhere in the county where I live. In fact, I haven't been able to find it for years. I guess demand is low. You can find root beer, ginger beer (from mild to hot) and cream soda in various supermarkets and restaurants. The 12 pack comes with 4 bottles each of the brands EARP'S, SIOUX CITY and SNAKE RIVER. The recipes are very similar. The main ingredients are carbonated water and cane sugar with natural and artificial flavoring. However, the calories per serving vary. EARP'S is 160 calories per bottle. SIOUX CITY is 170 calories per bottle and SNAKE RIVER is a whopping 194 calories per bottle! The best way to get a sense of the taste of each brand is to drink a mouthful of the particular soda and let that first mouthful sit on your tongue. Don't drink the soda quickly or you wont get the full flavor effect. Also, drink it reasonably cold, but not too cold. I found the EARP'S brand to be a classic sarsaparilla with an old Americana taste. The SIOUX CITY brand had what you might call a smoky or burned or oaky (oak-like) taste. The sort of taste you get from sherry wine which has been stored in oak barrels. I liked it and thought that this flavor gave the soda very good character! The third brand was SNAKE RIVER and it has a very different and distinct taste. This is because it contains quillaia extract. Quillaja saponaria extract (also spelled “quillaia”) is a dark brown liquid made from the logs and bark of the soapbark tree. Its tree bark produces chemicals called saponins that act as a natural ingredientSoapbark has a sweet, pungent odor. The word quillay is derived from the native Mapuche word quillean, which means “to wash.” The soapbark tree is a large evergreen with shiny, leathery leaves and a thick bark. It is native to Chile. The wood for the extract is often obtained through regular pruning activities that improve forests without killing the trees. The quillaia extract is often used as a foaming agent in soda, such as root beer and cream soda, and can be found in a wide variety of prepared baked goods. It has a distinctive sweet taste. It is also used in shampoos and other personal care products for its foaming ability. The best way I can describe the SNAKE RIVER sarsaparilla is that it tastes like clove spice! Pretty unusual! However, maybe people in the old southwest drank it that way? I've never tasted any soda quite like it. I suggest buying a four pack first and see what you think. In any event, I'm glad to have bought this brand. It's my personal discovery. So, I prefer the SIOUX CITY and the SNAKE RIVER. I'll definitely buy them again!

Great but shippig cost are high
Theres nothing to be upset about. Just shipping makes it expensive for what it is. I love these and the art on the bottle. Packaged nice with a cardboard divider. I probably would only get these if i wanted to feel like i was in fallout new vegas. This feels more like that vibe than the nuka cola quantum soda

Overpriced
These were delicious and the bottles were cool, but I later found similar drinks at a local market for half the price

Quite expensive. But worth it just for the experience.
Came well packaged! Tastes good and worth trying. The bottles are great for decoration afterwards too. Couldn’t be more stoked after trying it

Make sure you read the entire listing!
I was a little disappointed to receive only three different varieties in this pack, after ordering their root beer assortment and receiving 12 different ones... especially when the main body of the listing mentions FIVE brands. To be fair, the "product description" further down in the listing is 100% accurate - four bottles each of three varieties. It would be nice to have the main description updated so there's no conflicting information, but otherwise these were well packaged and delicious!

Delicious!
My husband was watching 'The Rifleman' and the son Mark would get Sarsaparilla. I bought him this as he wanted to try it and it was so delicious! The variety was distinctly different and will be buying this again!
