My aquarium had algae overgrowth because of my old light putting out the wrong wavelengths and became reset after a power outage. This light was in its original box when it was shipped, not real happy about that part. The box was badly damaged and I had really hoped that the light wasn't damaged. So far it doesn't seem to be. And I absolutely love it. Not only it's easy because there's an app that is very easy to use and set up, although I am messing with the advanced features and that's user error on figuring that out. I don't like the lightning setting in theory it's a cute idea but in reality it just looks like it's going to shock my fish. I have a 55 gallon and I am able to finally get grass on the bottom and everything is flourishing. On top of that my algae is not continuing to grow! It gives a very nice beautiful light! It's really sleek and about half the width of my last one. It just looks so good on the tank and in the tank.

When I opened the packaging I was impressed by the overall look of the light, it is very slim and looks really nice. After installing the light and downloading the application software on Phone, blue tooth pairing was very easy. I did get a pop-up indicating that their was a firmware update available, downloaded & installed with no problems.The light is very easy to use and extremely flexible, it has three modes that are controlled from the phone applications, manual, automatic and pro. Manual Mode (picture No. 3) on/off functions, color settings and effects all manually selected. Automatic Mode (picture no. 4) is a preset automatic 24 hour cycle of the colors and level of colors. Pro Mode (picture no. 6) allows six time point settings, each time point setting has 4 colors with a slider bar to increase/decrease the percentage of the colors light. The time point settings and color percentages are easy to adjust and save, it also has a 24 hour preview feature that cycles your settings. the preview cycle only takes 24 seconds so you can see how the light will functions based on your settings.Previously I have been purchasing the $50 China cheapies for my aquariums which were only lasting 12 to 18 months and did not perform as stated in their specifications. Open the box, plug it in, download the app and boom...done. Unlike other reviews I read, my light was packaged in a separate shipping box.The 4' fixture fits perfectly on our 75 gal Marineland tank. The housing is streamlined and feels well made. A marked improvement over the plastic LED fixture that came with the tank. Cord is plenty long enough for my setup and the app is very easy to use. Use the preset light patterns or customize your own. LED's are clear and bright.Why other companies sell similar fixtures for twice the price is just crazy. Bluetooth is not new technology and it's extremely cheap. LED's, not new technology and again, super cheap. With that in mind, I still think $120.00 for a 4' fixture is high, but as I mentioned, the quality is there and most other name brands are charging double.It simply works exactly how it should. I bought this light to replace a broken one. My other light was more than double the price of the new one. Even though it’s half price, it’s light out put is similar. The Bluetooth feature is a game changer. It has so many features. I am pleased with my purchase!!

A few points. It's very slim because it has white LED's and RGB LED's, so there's no need to have a large fixture to cover the color spectrum. The app works perfectly for me *once you take some time to understand it* which some reviewers don't seem to have done. It's very easy, on the "auto" setting, so setup a sunrise, daytime, sunset, and night time schedule with custom colors and intensity. I can't imagine an easier way to setup an LED light strip. My prior setup required punching buttons on the strip itself, which lost all settings every time power was lost. This strip keeps everything in memory, and so easy to program from the app.Next issue is longevity, which I cannot speak to. I did take the time to seal the end caps and glass-to-body with silicone to prevent any corrosion problems. We'll see what happens. But otherwise, this thing works as advertised and I'm extremely happy. I'll update with any pros/cons.
