I would like to start off with I have purchased many different scum bugs and they have all turned a brown color and fell apart in my hot tub right after putting it in. I found this one and I am impressed we have had it in our hot tub for a week or so and it hasn’t turned brown and hasn’t fell apart. My hot tub water doesn’t have that scum lining at the either. I have it a 5 star review because this is the only one that has actually done what it says it will do and so far has held longer than any other ones I have purchased

It does what it says it does. It does absorb quite a bit of gunk but honestly one of these will not resolve all your problems depending on how much gunk you have. It can deal with a bit but will not make a magic and make the word gunk disappear from your dictionary. The issue of foam in hot tub is still waiting for a solution. It is a chance to become a millionaire for whoever finds a solution better than after the fact remediation with silicone based chemistry.

The ScumBug is the best brand do not buy the offbrand cheaper versions of this product they by far are not the same. The durability the amount of oil and pollen that it picks up there’s just no comparison.I use this product in a children’s decent size plastic blowup pool to help the longevity of the water for a day or 2 and by day two or three whenever I’m ready to empty out the water and I look at the scum bag it’s definitely done it’s job.10 out of 10 on this product.

I put it in our hot tub last week after seeing how gross the filter was. I thought this would help minimize the grossness of the filter. Wow! It did an amazing job! I couldn’t be happier. I will definitely be buying one of these every year.

Does exactly what it is supposed to do. I tried rinsing out, but not sure how to get oily film off. So I don't think it will last as long as expected, but does the job!

Actually works, luckily read the comments and bought the real deal. Husband's hair gel (eye roll) is no longer an unwelcome leftover for my morning swim in the hot tub. It’s about shot finally so 3 months for heavy use was a great value.
