Q: Does this come with the separate base or does footed base mean something different? No base is shown in the photos

The base is the container under the lid as shown

Q: is there a drain hose? Or does the water that comes off of the greens sit in the bottom of the container and then get poured off? Thanks

There is no hose, the water drains out of a hole at the bottom edge

Q: could this be driven with a hand drill?

We do not recommend attaching a drill, the speed may be too much for the plastic gear system inside. However, Dynamic makes the same type of 5 gal spinner with a motorized head, model EM 98. It sells for about $650.

Off balance

As I began spinning the drum, it began to violently shake. I emptied the drum and spun the drum with nothing in it and it was off balance. Cleaned it, disinfected it, and returned it.
