Love it!
The crate itself deserves five stars. It appears very sturdy. I also like that the latches aren't as easy to open as one of my dogs knows how to open a wire crate. The top door is a bonus since the pup who will be using it seems to like looking out, and I'm fine keeping it open at all times. Love the side door as well since I won't have to pull out the tray to change the pad. Initially, I opted to use an ex-pen just for this purpose, but I found them to be too flimsy. I'd hoped for a different type of tray, but this will do. :) It is big enough for what I wanted though taller than I expected. Had I gotten one size down, the dog who will be using it would not have room for a bed and puppy pad. She's a tiny dog, and while I'd rather not put her in a crate this size, she always potties on her blankets in crates more suited to her. I am hoping by giving her more room and a pad, should she need to go, she will not go on her bed. Did I mention I'm tired of washing beds? Time will tell if this method works. Now I just need to find a good spot to put it in my small house!

Do not buy!
This cage is a good cage for a calm & well behaved dog. If you’re purchasing this cage for a puppy this is not a good selection!! We have a young pup & the cage collapses from the inside of the dog claws on it. Also, the bottom of the cage has a tray which is very flimsy & has already snapped for us and we have only had it 2 weeks. It’s not very sturdy & I do not recommend it for any dogs that may try to get out or chew.UPDATE: This cage is the WORST. I would never purchase this product knowing how it has handled to one puppy. The metal bends so easily and it causes the latches to no longer work. I have the hardest time getting my dog in and out. Please do not get this cheap product and if you can’t find anything cheaper than this, just spend the extra money or you’ll regret it!

AWESOME QUALITY. Built strong!
Heavy duty. Wheels suck and will scratch hard wood.I made a mega kennel. I popped a side wall out on two units and twist tied them together. This made it very easy for a young litter.Tip for all you breeders: put giant garbage over the tray and invert the bag when it gets filled with droppings and boom, no mess, no touching droppings, and you can tie the bag and throw it right in the trash. Also, I use it for my 85lb GSD when my female goes into heat. He CANNOT break out of this. We did buy a rug to put at the bottom because I don't like them sitting on the metal grates.

Flimsy
Size was what just we needed, priced good, easy to assemble and the three gate locations were perfectly placed. My only concern is it’s so light weight it is rather flimsy, not sturdy at all. Gate latches can be easily manipulated by a curious pet. If I had a dog who wanted to push at a gate they would easily get out. If you have an escape artist pet I’d not recommend this one, but if your pet is well crate trained and not interested in getting out it may be just fine. I’d not use this for containing a dog during travel as I wouldn’t consider it safe for mine.

LIFE SAVER
Okay- so I've had this cage probably about a month and a half now.. I have a fifty pound pit bull that suffers from severe anxiety whenever I leave the house to the point where I unfortunately had to end up leaving her outside tied up when I left the house. (Stay at home mom so it's not like she was out for hours on end every day or even 5 days a week.) She completely DESTROYED her PREVIOUS cage which got to the point where it couldn't hold her no matter how hard I tried. I even tried locking her in the bathroom. HA. Let's just say I came home to a completely destroyed bathroom to keep things simple. THIS CAGE HAS BEEN A LIFE SAVER. She was able to somehow bend 4 prongs the first day but that was it! Truly pleased with this cage. The only thing which would not hinder my rating at all because I'm so pleased is that the breaks where iffy to begin with on the two wheels and now they don't seem to work. I DOMT CARE THOUGH! Definitely suggest this cage.

A good crate that has worked well for my needs
I can see why there are negative reviews for this product, but it has worked well for me. Over the past year I have ordered two of these. One for our first pit mix that we brought home from the shelter in Jan '14, and then again for our second that we brought home in Jan '15. The welds are not the best, and the plastic tray on the second one is definitely of lower quality that the first. But they are large and I have had no issues with the dogs staying put inside at night. Both dogs are approx. 60# and have plenty of room inside these crates. I would imagine that if either one of them really wanted out, they could find a way. But to date, these have served us very well. Kong makes a very heavy duty bed/mat that fits perfectly inside these as well. These are not crates that you will take down on a regular basis for travel. Yes, they can be dismantled and folded, but I personally would not want to do that very often.
