Interesting Read
I am really into understanding how our body works and what helps or hinders it. I know that the Word of God speaks about our words and how important it is to understand our words have power and can make a difference in our lives, a big difference. I have read this for years, and also tried to watch what I said, but I never really had a full understanding that what we speak truly, truly does have an effect on our lives. This book opened my eyes to a whole lot more revelation on the subject. It is written in a very easy way to understand, examples given, stories told. I was glued to the pages. Now, I may not agree with everything that was written in here, but I will tell you that there is a lot of information as a Christian that I needed to know. Our words definitely do effect how we live, believe it because it is the truth. God was not kidding! This book will help you understand what YOUR words are doing to yourself. That is a little scary isn't it? However, you can change what you say through those little lips of yours and perhaps, just perhaps have a better life for it. A very interesting read with a lot of interesting information.

Tthe gift of paying it forward
Barbara is a publisher and an author and I have had the profound pleasure of speaking with her several times on the telephone. As all those who have crossed my path on my own journey as a writer, she believes in the gift of paying it forward.Barbara wrote this book as her own personal account of living with and coping with a brain tumor. It entails her story of having dismissed complaints, yet listening to what her body was telling her, and offers up exercises for paying attention to what your body is saying, your own sixth sense. She is a true inspiration to her readers, and she is a genuine person. She encouraged me to continue my writing, and lifted me up as a human being. I am glad I had the opportunity of knowing her better and reading her book. This is an inspirational self-help book on learning ways of dealing with pain and illness. If you have reached the acceptance phase of this grieving process we are in, I strongly encourage you to add this book to your list of things to do from your journal. Here's to you Barbara, wherever you are, in the spirit of paying it forward.

Phenomenal practice.
I use this books wisdom every moment of the day. I was first introduced to speaking nicely in my own thoughts here-What a concept.! I am the kindest, sweetest most loving inside speaker you will ever meet! Lol:-) I recommend this book to all clients and all friends- it's too important to skip. Redirecting and reframing your continuous internal chatter to kind, functional, merciful, speak is pivotal if you want to be healthy and have great relationships. I have learned from this foundation, that my thoughts are like magic- sounds like new age crap, eh? It's soooooooo not. Once you begin this practice, you will see. You will discover what I already know now- you are your own creator! You can be, have and do what you want. Begin by listening to what you say to yourself- notice how the society at large speaks- you will find it doesn't support you or help heal you- you can build true self esteem with this practice. I have. I am grateful for this work- I love myself and see myself better than I could have imagined and I hope you will do this work for yourself as well. Blessings

Just say it and life is transformed.
Brlliant book. Brings home the power of the word. Our word in our lives. After all, we all live in stories. Stories of who we are, identities we carry to survive, stories we inherited and ultimately stories we believe about ourselves. Stories consist of words. The words impact our nerves, our emotions, our outlook, our health, our appearance, our posture, our attitudes, our relationships - our world. Barbara Levine's book is full of examples of how words impact every aspect of our lives and by being mindful of the contexts we create with our words, we can actually change the quality, health and situation of our lives.

there are many thoughtful insights and good bits of advice to be had
This book has a lot to offer in terms of how we talk to ourselves. It does get redundant and I don't necessarily agree with every connection but, there are many thoughtful insights and good bits of advice to be had. A worthy read for most everyone.

Don't get rid of books.
I owned this book some years ago and in my wisdom, I had gotten rid of it. Naturally, the time came when I wanted to have it again. It really is a good book and I need to reread it It came right when they said it would. Great service.
