KOHLER 6299-96 Veil Wall-Hung Elongated Toilet Bowl, Biscuit

WE LOVE THIS TOILET design. We were building a very small powder room (34" x 72") and needed every available inch, so we decided to install the Kohler in wall toilet system. It's expensive, but it looks fantastic. Lot's of work to reinforce the wall for the tank, but well worth it in the end. We plan to use this toilet in our whole house remodel. So easy to clean and looks amazing.

I had a company install it so I can't say much about installation. My problem was that where I wanted a bathroom, I didn't want to tear up the concrete floor to go into the existing stack. This toilet was my solution (I didn't want a grinder toilet either) and this toilet setup allowed the plumber to go through the wall into the stack --no concrete tear-up needed. It does flush really well, but like other people said the plastic side covers don't stay on.

American Toilets stand on the ground. I can't hold myself back to be negative thinking that it is to support the overweight population. They also have a giant space wasting ugly water tank. Wall hung toilets that installed properly can carry over 500lbs and provide at least 8 inch bigger legroom when sitting on them since there is no tank . AND THEY ARE SO MUCH EASIER TO CLEAN - you can mop the floor underneath them!This unit has the least curves so cleaning is even simpler then any other American models.I know that there is a fear about possible problems in the tank that it is in the wall. People think that if anything goes wrong the wall has to be open. Kohler tanks are serviced from the inside. You take the flush plate off and you can reach in. I know this not because i had to service them but because I had them installed in my homes. The tank goes in the wall hollow. Once installed and all the finishes are on the wall, all the gizmos go in and gets covered by the flush plate. I had Kohler tanks installed in my home in Hungary back in the early 90's. I have never had to open any of them since.

It’s been a full year since I installed this in our fully remodeled bath. So it will be comprehensive.Installation was no more difficult than any other toilet, it just takes a little longer for all the behind the wall stuff. I used the Geberit system, and chose this Kohler toilet because of aesthetics. It does look beautiful, as far as toilets go. I put the plastic side panels in place, and have had no problems with them since.Before purchasing, I read the reviews, and found some to be negative, but decided to go with Kohler anyway. Mistake. The negative reviews were spot on. It flushes with power! (Power = noise) But it’s all sound and no power. A lot of the time it takes two flushes to dispatch all the paper, and too often leaves behind skid marks, unlike any other toilet I’ve owned. In order to prevent those marks, you need to preload the bowl with toilet paper, and hope. The porcelain, in the depths of the bowl, seems to be of poor quality, as it acquires pee stains in a matter of two days. The standby toilet brush is mandatory. Buy you still have to glove up and go deep every few days.For these reasons I can’t recommend this toilet, and am sad to say, that at the time of purchase, I bought two. I do not want to install the second one, but my findings came too late to return it. So I just might be stuck with cleaning toilets every other day. I should have listened to the few.

I really like the toilet design, but for the price paid, I think Kohler should do something more than have the side panels attach with sticky tape and velcro. The side panels keep falling off, so I need to figure out a better way to keep them attached.Also, I wish it were easier to adjust the water level. I feel like there's not enough water that sits in the bowl after flushing, so sometimes I have to flush twice to get the toilet paper to go down. There's probably a way to adjust the level, but I had it professionally installed (we had our entire bathroom redone), and I'm not exactly sure how to do it right now.It's a pricey toilet, and so I wish it would just flush better and the side panels weren't so chintzy like.

A bit tricky on the plumbing and mechanical rough in but the finished results are awesome.

I selected the Kohler brand instead of Geberit (a European company) considering its reputation. Now I regret buying the Kohler toilet tub for following reasons:1) Water splashes in and the seat becomes stained while flushing.2) Water does not flow in the tub and requires flushing two or three times.3) The side covers are with velcro-type material. But the glue of the material is of poor quality and the side cover comes out.Please do NOT consider Kohler produces good design products.

Beautiful, sleek, modern clean design. It is true that the side covers come out, but this is an easy fix with some silicone.
