DRO 3 Axis Digital Readout Display +3pc Glass Linear Scale for CNC Mill Lathe Machine (400+600+700)

I've bought several of these, they are easy to install and easy to use. Amazing how many features there are on these economical DRO's. Bolt circle, find center, and many other features. They are very accurate also.

I ordered custom lengths (X/Y/Z=350/200/300) for a Grizzly G0463 mill. Increments of 50 mm only. This is a DIY kit with no instructions whatsoever. To get an electronic copy of the manual for the display, go to their website. Refer to the photos for details on the install. The scales have been accurate and repeatable, with easy on screen switching between metric and SAE. The read heads run underneath the scale, which keeps things cleaner, at least for the X & Y axis'. The included hardware, including scale covers are nice. I was able to use some of the parts, with the rest custom machined and 3D printed parts. I don't like that the read head is the same thickness as the scale, which requires you to shim the scale out to keep it from rubbing on a moving stage...a minor issue.

I purchase several things on Amazon and was giving pretty in-depth reviews. From this point on, here's the new agenda…. if it works as advertised, is well made, meets or exceeds the description, is a value, and arrives in a fair amount of time, it will get a "star rating" equal to what my expectations were/are. If it doesn't meet these criteria, then I will most definitely and descriptively tell the short comings of the products and you as a consumer will not have to go through the trouble of buying the product without some background knowledge. If the sell pulls that item and relists under another description, I will put the exact same review on the seller's feedback page. Sellers have done this a couple of times in the past, and I was true to my word then as well as now. DR

I bought the 3 axis package for my Bridgeport. Mary and I had a brief discussion about the length of the encoders and the DRO arrived in about a week. It was exactly what we had agreed upon. The encoders had glass scales and were easy to install, the gaps and parallelism of the mount were very forgiving making it easy to get up and running.The readout has many features making things like bolt circles and hole patterns easy to program. The readouts are bright green and their intensity can be set from dim to very bright over 7 levels.I am planning to buy the 2 axis version to replace the Heidenhien DRO I currently have on my lathe and if you are in the market for a DRO, I would recommend this product as it is a good value for the money.

Nice product. Install was challenging, but doable with some creative thought. When ordered, they mention if specified lengths are needed leave message. Instead received over sized lengths as listed per order. Two out of three scales fit perfectly. However, carefully cut/shortened the "Y" by 200mm on a cold cut saw. Worked perfectly and scale too. Happy with the results/product, but not the supplier communications skills.

they fit good on my Wen 33013 mill, just make sure you have plenty of drill bits, you will break a few installing these, the cast iron like to eat bits, once installed which is easy (besides the bits breaking), it works great, very accurate and read instructions, programming will get easier with use, I highly recommend these, make sure after you order to check the messages from the vendor from orders screen, then problem with order, they will ask you for confirmation of the sizes.

After using this DRO set for 6 weeks, the only fault I have is the manual. It is written in Chinglish. I had to combine bits from other online manuals to understand some of the DRO functions. There are no instructions for installing the scales, because every installation is unique. There are many included fasteners of different sizes. You won't use them all. I did not use the included mounting brackets. Made my own. The extra long 9 foot cables allow you to place them wherever you want. The selection of 3-scale sets offered on this listing are pre-packaged in China, if you need other sizes look at other listing. Longer scale are OK if there is room to mount them. Two of my scales are longer than needed. One scale I cut shorter. Yes you can shorten glass scales, but think it through before attempting. After carefully removing the very delicate thin glass, it scored with a simple glass cutter, then snapped easily. I'm happy with this purchase.
