Cuts well but beware loose bolts!
It cuts well but one of the bolts loosened and fell out after one week of moderate use. It would pay to check two largest pivot bolts and tighten them - consider some loctite blue!

Well made, sturdily built, gets the job done
I have had several hand loppers in the past, but none has ever worked as well as this one. The last one I had was hard to work and when I was trying to cut a thick or dense branch the two cutting blades would often slip apart. This one has a ratcheting mechanism that provides additional cutting leverage and is much easier to work--and the blades stay together. This earns a solid four stars and I will come back and upgrade it to five stars if it holds up to my moderate level of use.

This is the best pair of loppers I've ever used
This is the best pair of loppers I've ever used, and I've used a lot of them. It has the three things you would want most: sturdiness, moderate weight and cutting ability. I don't know if everyone appreciates the ratcheting ability that has been around in hand pruners for dozens of years but it makes it possible to cut through thick branches almost effortlessly. I've been cutting down a large grove of bamboo, and without this lopper, I would be doing a lot of sawing. This is a very well-made and pleasure to use tool, and for the quality, it is very low priced.

Work made easy
These are really nice loppers. The ratchet allows you to stop mid-way in a cut or if the blade gets stuck, open the handle and the ratchet kicks in to make short work of a 1" - 1.5" branch. The metal (aluminum?) arms are light, making the heft easier. I would recommend these loppers to anyone needed a pare for light yard work.

Great Product
This product works extremely well -- the ratchet feature allows the user to obtain almost 100 percent efficiency for his/her effort since this tool, "holds" the resulting position each time the handles are operated.

Yay! A great purchase!
Wow! These loppers are huge and very substantial. Simply can't wait to use them. Have lots of trees to trim. Definitely better than my old ones.Ok, just used them and very impressed. Currently have a wrist issue and there was practically no strength needed to cut through a one inch branch thanks to the racheting mechanism. Very pleased.

It works fantastic and just as described.
I bought the first one of these last spring and used it on my apple trees and other trees around the homestead and I love it. I have arthritis in my hands and i was able to cut branches over an inch and a half easily. I loved it so much I bought one for my daughter for Christmas.
