Generic 35ft Pigtail Electric Hose with 3 way switch, Made To Fit Nutone

I read about how the NuTone OEM hose is no longer as great as they once were (mine that just died was 19 years old). So then why not try a third party hose instead and save some money? Upon receiving this one I noticed that it weighs less (a boon since the OEM NuTone was *heavy*). I cannot say after one day of ownership and one usage that this hose will last long, but I can say that it appears to be well made. (Upon necessary disassembly of the head piece I noticed that this unit has a much more durable hose-2-head-handle integration than the NuTone OEM hose.) If after use my experience changes I will update this review.On the other hand, I must also add that this hose is much harder to push into the wall plate. I don't remember (again, 19 years ago) if that happened with the OEM hose, but I am hoping that this will get better over time.I must also mention that the seller (Mi Vidorra) was extremely helpful to me figuring out how to make this fit my needs.

After 20 years, my old vacuum hose wore out, so I ordered this new hose. It worked well with the hand held tools, but kept falling off the vacuum cleaner. Upon comparing the old and new handles, I discovered the button spring was not as stiff as the button spring on my old hose. The button spring is riveted onto the handle, so I was hesitant to attempt to replace the spring. I took the old handle apart and took out the pipe with the button spring. I took the new handle apart and, to my delight and surprise, the pipes were identical. I replaced the new pipe with the old pipe. If there was a warranty with the new hose, I am sure I voided it. The vacuum works now, but I do not recommend buying this hose.

We bought this hose to use with our existing Nutone beater bar assembly. The outside diameter of the nozzle end is slightly smaller than the inside diameter of the Nutone and the beater bar attachment slides out of the spring loaded pin that is supposed to hold it in place.

the hose is a great length but that's about it. It kinked a few times will I was using it for the first time. The biggest issue is that the handle connection is too long, so when I connect it to the vacuum wand and move back and forth, it has room to move, and if you twist the handle just a little, it will disconnect from the wand. Very annoying. My husband had to drill in another hole, so the 2 met tighter.

It did not come with a cloth cover like my original one did. It is also a tight fit in my wall entrances, but it does go in with a bit of jiggling back and forth. So far I am satisfied. My other one quit working after 25 years, so that’s a pretty good record, I guess.

This is not a NuTone product...The handle assembly doe not have the NuTone logo...The problem is with the handle fitting that mates with the floor wand not providing a tight fit. The connection is extremely loos and does not ensure proper suction...Product was returned for credit less return shipping cost that in my estimation should be waived.

It isn't as compatible as it claims. I had to make some modifications to it for it to work and out model was expressly listed as being fully compatible.

If you are not a confident DIYer, DO NOT expect this hose to make it much past the warranty period. KEEP your receipt!!! Bought this for the extra 5ft of length versus the original 30ft factory NuTone hose. Also to eliminate my wife having to carry the heavy hose between floors. Shortly after the one year warranty expired it started to fall apart. First the swivel head started to lose connection with the wiring harness (happened multiple times in year 2). I am an advanced DIYer, so I take the head apart, clean up the oxidation, re apply white lithium and reset the spring/brass ring tension. The springs fatigue over time so this repair becomes more frequent as the hose ages. Then the attachment locking tab broke off the swivel head inlet causing the attachments to fall off denting my hardwood floors!!! Not to mention an ear piercing sound from the vacuum air rushing over the small hole where the tab once was. Cannibalized the inlet tip from my non swivel garage hose and re built the head once again. At just over 2 years old the unreinforced hose split just behind the swivel head (the factory original Nutone hose has extra reinforcing at this fatigue point). Thank you YouTubers for helping to show me that this also can be fixed by a confident DIYer. A couple hours of tedious surgery (careful cutting and soldering) on the hose and we now have a functioning hose (albeit, now 34ft long) again. But for how long. Good luck, because there aren't a lot of alternative options out there.

Good quality for a good price. Local vacuum outlets charging far more. Took off one star as this hose is slightly less flexible than my old hose but function is very acceptable. Nice that it has switch for vacuum and power head unlike others that only control power head.

Works flawlessly with our Hoover vacuum from Costco and all the attachments. Needed to install the new hanger as the hose is longer than average. The 3-way switch (aka. button on the handle) is a must have to activate the vacuum. So far, very impressed (it's been 3 months)

The position 2 of the 3-way switch stopped working. This is the position which turns on the power to the Power Head. Very disappointing. My last hose I used for many, many years without the problem. Cheap component makes the hole product unreliable. It is difficult to know what we are buying these days. Items looks like original but they lack the original quality and durability.

Bought as replacement for vac hose with broken switch. Fits perfect in my mid 90's built-in vac receptacle, despite saying it's for the Nutone brand. Replaced my hose where the 3-way switch was broken, works perfect and exactly the same, with the separate plug-in for the power bar for carpets. The gas pump style handle is much more comfortable than the straight handle I had on the old hose.
