I am so happy I bought this camera for my trip!!
The media could not be loaded. I am not a camera expert and didn’t buy this TL cam for construction. I bought it for a trip I took to Antarctica and it did not disappoint!!I bought the construction mount/clamp and fastened it to my balcony railing and mounted it for the entire trip.Drake Passage was pretty rough going down and back and the camera did great!! It was so secure I didn’t even worry about it when the rough seas were hitting the balcony glass.I shared pics of how I mounted it as well as one of my Timelapse videos. I’m so glad I bought this camera. The quality was great and it was easy to use.The temperatures were 15°-30° with windchills well below zero. The cam and mount withstood rain, sleet, snow and the southern ocean hitting it.For 12 days of recording I used 8 AA batteries. I took a lot more thinking the cold and 24/7 recording would run them down but they lasted much longer.Awesome little TL camera. Highly recommend.

Rock solid on two long projects so far
****bought this in 2020. I believe it’s critical to do the firmware update when you receive it or it may not work right. I recall that it took a few attempts to get the update to work so follow instructions carefully. Following that, I bought a 128gig mini SD and mounted the cam inside the enclosure up in a tree for two constriction projects. The first build lasted almost a year. Every two weeks or so I’d climb a ladder and pull out the SD card, get the footage, and replace the batteries. I think the batteries and SD would have gone quite a bit longer but I didn’t want to lose any days. Today I finished the footage on the second build. Both times the cam worked flawlessly. Crisp time lapse footage!

Just plain bad
I ordered these products for a professional application - long term, exterior time lapse. I read about them several on the company's website. According to the site, it seemed like a perfectly suited item to my application. I never really found out, because out of the box I hit one issue after another.I ordered 3 units. I read all the instructions first. I won't detail every issue I had - but the first unit I opened crashed while formatting a new card. The card was the specs per their website. Then, I couldn't get it to turn back on. After a while it did turn on, but then crashed again. The 2nd seemed to format the card. Again, having completely read about the product on their site, realized there was a firmware update. So, I downloaded that, followed the directions and found that the 2nd camera seemed to format the card, but the file structure wasn't there for me to put the new firmware on. So, I created it but the camera wouldn't read the card. Finally, after a lot of attempts, I got the firmware on the card and followed the directions to install it. Short story - didn't work, even after several attempts. I went to the site and called the "Hotline"... went to a weird voicemail. So, tried again to be sure, double checked the number, and got the same. So, I left a message with my number. No call back (this is days later, still no call back). Finally, and this should tell you about their QC and overall attention to detail: The weatherproof housing has a battery holder so that you can power the camera over an extended period of time. It has the wrong connector! It doesn't interface with the camera! Useless!! This company did a very good job with their site and marketing. When you get the box, it's like getting something from Apple - cool packaging, sleek, looks like good stuff... just like their website. But, it's a bunch of smoke and mirrors. I'd say this - if you're looking for something to play around with at home - more of an inexpensive toy camera to do time lapse with, then this might be okay for that. But, in no way is it ready for anything more than that. I found that there is no inexpensive option for doing high quality, extended, exterior time lapse.

So Far, Very Happy
I'll update when I've played more, but so far, I'm pretty impressed. The instructions could be a bit easier, but if your buying this camera, I suspect your a but tech savvy and should be able to figure it out. What I've learned from reading review and my 3 day experience.1. READ and FOLLOW this instruction. Format your SD Card, and install the firmware update which is easily found on Brinnos web page.2 . About the SD Card: As I read from another reviewer, the Brinno description is very misleading. Yes you get an SD card, but its 8gb. Enough to learn and play with, but not enough for a big project. For $600.00, I would have liked to see a 128gb card included. I was aware of this ahead of time from a review, so I bought one at the time of purchase. If I'm buying a $600 camera, $25 more isn't going to break the bank.3. Buying an SD card for your camera: Not all SD cards are created equal. I found this out the hard way in my GoPro Days. Do yourself a huge favor, visit Brinno's web page and buy a recommended SD card. This will likely solve any corrupt file issues.4. I haven't used the waterproof enclosure yet, but it looks pretty sturdy. I'm happy to see they included moisture absorbing pads in the kit. Nice touch.5. Clamp mount: I just starting playing with this, but its a beast. Much heavier than I expected it to be. It looks like it will, but I hope it holds out in the weather.6. Making a finished product: Understand that you will have to get your own video editor software to stich the files together. Not to worry, there are plenty of free versions online. I researched, downloaded and stitched my first set of files together in under an hour.
