The color is totally inconsistent!!!! These come in sets of 2. I ordered 2 sets of 2 so that I would have 4 espresso shelves to hang in our family room, 2 on either side of the TV. The 2 sets look like completely different colors. Trust me I know that wood can stain slightly different etc... this is not that type of issue. Since the shelves are packed in two different boxes (bc they are two dif sets) I didn't open the second box (which was the lighter color) until I had already hung the darker two shelves. Aka I already had holes in the walls and tools everywhere and was so clearly past the point of no return. Now I need to go to Home Depot and get some sort of stain or paint to make the two shelves darker (I'm 8 months pregnant and have a 1.5 year old so this is absolutely not what I want to be doing right now......) I paid a lot of money for these... they should be more consistent in color so that they can be used in the same room.Also FYI...I'm a very nice person and hate leaving a bad review but what I hate more is that I spent almost $200 on these and put holes in the walls of our new house and I still have to go to the store and paint etc while I'm pregnant... its just not right. So I'm sorry to spread negativity however be aware of this issue before buying multiple sets.

Shelves and mounting hardware are very well made and look great. Once installed, they are a very stylish addition to our living room. However, there were problems with the installation process. First, the screws for the drywall anchors were missing. I didn't bother contacting the seller because I wanted to get the shelves installed ASAP, so I found some screws in my shop that did the job. Second, each shelf mounts to the wall with two separate, single-rod brackets. Each bracket has double-sided tape attached, which is supposed to hold the brackets in place temporarily in place until you can mark the locations for the anchors. You are supposed to leave the brackets in the shelf, peel the cover off the tape, press the shelf against the wall where you want it, then pull the shelf off. The tape strips are supposed to hold the brackets in place until you can mark the holes where the anchors will go. Then you peel the brackets off the wall, peel the tape off the brackets, and remount them to the wall using the anchors. There are problems with this system. First, you only get one shot to do this, making sure the the shelf is level, square, etc. If you miss, the tape will not stick again with sufficient adhesion to hold the brackets. Second, in the case of one of my shelves, the channel on the back of the shelve where one bracket goes was cut slightly too deep, meaning that the bracket was too deep in the shelf and the tape would not make contact with the wall. I have some skill, experience, and manual dexterity, so I was able to successfully "guestimate" where the bracket should go, but I admit in the end I was lucky. People with less DIY skills probably wouldn't be. Also, the tape strips cover two out of four mounting holes on each bracket, so you can't easily mark the walls for them with a pencil. To solve that problem, I used an awl to just punch a small hole through the tape into the drywall. In the end, I got my four shelves installed. They are level, and vertically in line, but the project wasn't as easy as I anticipated. I had previously bought and installed four three-foot shelves from the same seller, and the process was much easier. Those shelves have a single, two-prong bracket, and no tape strips. You just mark your level line where you want the brackets, mark the holes for the anchors, install the bracket, and slide the shelf on the bracket- easy- peazy. Dakoda Love needs ditch the separate brackets and tape on their two-foot shelves, and adopt the same system they have for their three-foot version.

Really nice and heavyweight shelves with strong brackets for mounting. The only negative is that I had, was that I cleaned the top of one with a damp cloth and water and it looks like some of the stain came off on the cloth. (this was my original review**)**I've since changed the rating to 5 stars and would give 10+ if I could :). The company contacted me immediately after my original 4 star review to address my concern with the stain coming off. I sent one of the owners, Kyle, my pictures and he was very receptive and kind and agreed that my original order was not sealed properly. He went above and beyond and prepared and sent a new set of shelves. They just arrived and are simply beautiful and I've attached a pic with the shelves laid next to each other for comparison. I can tell by the way the new ones are finished and sealed that they can now be easily wiped with a soft cloth & water and will look spectacular in my kitchen for many years! I can't wait to put them up!! I'm thrilled with the shelves and the company and their customer service is unlike any other - simply WOW!

the edge of one of the board has some scratch when it is arrived but i think it is not the seller's fault but the shipping company's... anyway, it took me about 1 hr in total to mount both of them to the location that i want. one of the board poles were not able to stick on the wall for long enough for me to mark the position down. i was hoping that the pole location can be adjusted to match the stud in the dry wall, man this thing is very heavy, you need to find some stud on each side so I have to mark some shift on my mounted location to make at least one of the screw on both side find the stud. after all, i think this is still great product real solid hardwood piece, very satisfied!

I installed these in my kitchen to hold tea cans, and they worked out really well. While i can’t comment on what the weight limit is for these shelves, i can certainly say that the quality is solid. The shelves look beautiful installed, and come with all the hardware you need. The finish is very nice, a top notch quality overall. These days when almost everything seems to be made half a world away, and true craftsmanship is oftentimes a thing of the past, it was nice to see these domestically made products of superb quality. I highly recommend these shelves, and will certainly look no further if i ever need to install more.
