12V 3A version will power 2Wire 3800HGV/33600HGV-B Residential Gateway Router for ATT U-Verse
I did considerable research to ensure I purchased a power supply with the correct specs to power a 2Wire 3800HGV/33600HGV-B Residential Gateway Router for ATT U-Verse (the gateway comes with a Belkin Uninterruptle Power Supply, but like many owners I found that after a few years the UPS went on the fritz -- probably needs a new battery, but I don't need a UPS so I just wanted a regular power supply to replace it). The 12V 3A version of this power supply does indeed work well for this purpose (this is the power input required by the gateway according to its specs). The unit I received does not look exactly like the photo, but is very similar. It is labeled Model W-T 3000. Made in China. Has FCC and CE marks, plus several other marks I'm not familiar with. Comes with a three-prong AC power cord. The 5.5x2.1mm connector pin fits the gateway perfectly (this is the size listed in the gateway specifications). The unit appears to be good quality. Has a blue LED to indicate when it is powered. I cannot speak to durability because I have only used it for a few hours. It gets slightly warm as most power supplies do, but this is very slight -- similar to a warm handshake so it can safely sit on a carpet. Another reviewer commented that his/her supply made a buzzing noise. This unit is completely silent. For all these reasons, I am very satisfied with this purchase. If this unit fails or has other problems I promise to come back and update this review. Another similar item is available on Amazon that specifically says it will power the 2Wire 3800HGV/33600HGV-B gateway, but it did not have Prime shipping available. That's why I ordered this one instead which did arrive via free Prime shipping in 2 days as expected.Update 07-16-2015: I have now been using this for 18 months and it is still working perfectly. No issues or problems.

An inexpensive, effective solution.
I purchased this as a fill-in until I could source a higher wattage adapter elsewhere. I am powering a teensy pc with a Pico-PSU power supply (I know, but clarity). I am using this to provide the required 12 volts DC to the pico-PSU. The power supply I am using is rated at 160 watts, with a 200 watt peak. Pretty nifty for a PSU that is no bigger than an ATX connector! Me being me, I had to push the limits of what this adapter could put out. With a Pentium G3258 overclocked to 4.6 GHz 16 gb, and an overclocked GTX 750 Ti, my total power draw was 164 watts (at 100% cpu/100% gpu utilization) as measured by kill-a-watt meter. Hmmmm... I wonder if this could power my i7-4790K overclocked to 4.6 GHz... With Prime 95 and Furmark stress testing utilities I reached a total power draw of 194 Watts (>150% of rated power) before the overcurrent protection kicked in. This tells us two things: this adapter is rated conservatively, meaning it's rating is way below the actual ability. It also tells us the overcurrent protection is working. In theory, this will likely provide 120 watts of 12 volts DC for many years. Not bad for a seventeen dollar unit. If what you need is an AC-DC power adapter and don't intend to be a fool like me, this will work perfectly!

Not Instant On
Using to illuminate (LED light-tape) shelves in a walk in closet, but it takes about 2 seconds for the lights to come on after flipping the switch. Bought 2, both behave the same. Returning for another product

Delayed start
Power supply works well. supplies 8A to my office LED lighting. The supply "brick" gets warm. The startup delay on the supply is long. I haven't timed it, but its close to or just above 1.5 seconds. I removed one star for description missing this parameter in the specs.

Stays pretty cool so far
I am using it to run three NEMA 17 stepper motors at around 1.7 Amps each. Works great, stays cool. The only thing to make it better would be a longer output side cable. I don't have an o-scope to measure how clean the output is, but it is not causing issues with the stepper drivers I'm using (DRV8825's running in a CNC shield on an Arduino UNO clone). Not sure yet about long term reliability, haven't run it for very long so far. I'll be adding another motor (@ 1.7 Amps) to the mix and will update review if anything changes.

Steady performer
This transformer is used to provide power to my telescope and is proving to be a capable and steady device. I would recommend this to others.

Used on DC-DC Audio Project Analog Synthesizer
This adapter was used to power a DC-DC power supply. I am going from 24V DC to -12V and +12v DC signals. This product works perfect for this application. I am powering an analog synthesizer, and experience no audible noise hum, or signal bleeding. I have been using supernight brand for some time now. Glad to see these on amazon.

Works Well, Even Powered On 24/7
Purchased this to replace a dead 12V 7A power brick for a NAS. It's been working great running 24/7 for a few weeks now. No complaints from the NAS or heat issues from the brick being on all the time. Seems like a solid product.
