Q: So is this good for 450 hp v-8 gasoline engines??

Horse power doesn't matter. It's a scent additive and works nicely. I have a five gallon tank on my dune buggy and prefer the purple scent as it matches my paint color. Scented additive has no affect on horsepower. Mix lightly at first until you get the exhaust scent at a level you like. Simple and nice !

Q: Will this work for diesel?

Never tried it with diesel, helps some with my gas engine.
