Bought this a while back, never used it because the minute I plugged it in the bulb blew out. I just went out and bought an entire new UV sterilizer from my local fish/aquarium store. Was a complete waste of money

Was an adventure, but light does exactly what I need it to do.The light blew out as soon as I plugged it up the first one send. Seller quickly replaced and no problems with the second one.

As mentioned in other reviews the bulb blew out when first plugging in.Two possibilities here, 1) cheap bulbs2) more likely, there is a light-oil being used for the O-ring seals. This oil gets everywhere on all surfaces of the housing, the crystal housing and the bulb itself. The packaging even had a spot on the cardboard where one of the tube opening was up against it. Instructions for replacing bulb even mention not touching the bulb because of skin oils, use a tissue. Manufacture should take their own advice and maybe package the bulb separate from unit, away from o-ring oil and ask customers to wipe off any oil then carefully install bulb with clean tissue.I did order some replacement bulbs from Amazon and will update my rating after I actually use it. To find bulbs here on amazon I searched for 3Watt UVC Replacement bulb. They are used in pedicure, toothbrush water pick things, if that helps.

Love it!!! Works really great on my tank just to help keep the water clean and healthy. Low power consumption, Cobalt has really great and affordable equipment.

It’s work really great together with my cobalt filters and I'm run 75-gallon tank but water is very clear!!!
