The item arrived in good condition - well packed . It is advertised as being made from Stainless Steel but I strongly doubt this. Measuring its weight and comparing its volume the metal has a density of around 3000 kg/m3 like Aluminium or an alloy of this. If the item was Stainless Steel it would have a density closer to 8000kg/m3. I asked the supplier to change the product description to reflect the material used. Nothing yet. Assume this is Aluminium and you possibly won't be upset?In use the item is slightly flawed as there are some burrs from where the notches have been made. This means that when you look for light showing between the gauge and the fretboard the burrs are providing a false impression - as well as being a possible way to damage/scratch your lovely fretboard. The good news is, being Aluminium, these are easily removeable with careful filing. Don't go mad with the file though - you will destroy the thing! The notches are correctly spaced for long and short scale and ultimately the gauge did the job for me.

It works as a basic measurement although I think for a proffesional luthier it would be better to pay more for a higher quality, for the price it works OK as does the job.

Despite saying it will fit a 25.5 scale length, only the first 3 notches fit!
