GownTownWomen's 1950s Cloak Two-Piece Cocktail Dress

Shopping for a simple Mass ceremony dress for my upcoming wedding, and wanted something simple yet chic. The sweetheart neckline is to die for. The material is actually thicker than I expected, with medium stretch, so very forgiving. I'm 5'4", 124 lbs, 34A cup. I initially bought a medium, but it was too big in the hips and waist. The small fit like a glove. The little shawl is adorable, but a little difficult to do the button (perhaps of my fat fingers? lol). The skirt has a bit of flair; you may be able to get away without a petticoat with the fit-n-flare silhouette. the white is a big see-through though, so will be wearing a nude or white strapless corset. Overall can't beat the price for such an adorable dress! Happy shopping!

I took a gamble on this dress but it was a big win for me. The dress has stretch to it so sizing is really easy/flexible but it was true to size. It was so comfortable and hugged all the right spots for a really nice fitted look without being uncomfortable or showing off any problem areas. I never get dresses this awesome or fit so well when I shop online - definitely a dress lottery moment there. The dress is perfect as-is, but would also look great if you wanted something casual without the cape and it is not attached. Would go great with a petticoat under it too, but it had enough flare for me without. I ordered red and it is a perfect red, not washed out in an orange hue or anything. I think this is my new favorite dress.

I'm 5'2 105 lbs and a Bcup size. Bust size 32" and waist 27". The Small size dress fit me PERFECTLY. Literally, like a glove-- no awkwardess around the bust or tightness at the waist. The skirt ends just below my knees, so it's a little longer than expected. You don't need to wear a petticote because it would have plenty of elegant flare without it but I'm buying one because I personally love to have huge princess skirts to accentuate my waist. I ordered grey color and the dye was very accurate to the picture. It looks very mysterious, kinda magical lol but also very innocent with a charming cuteness. A great formal alternative to black. I'm, personally wearing this to a funeral.Pros: Beautiful unique dress with a great fit! The fabric has a bit of stretch for comfort and might make up for inexact size matches.Cons: I normally would not pay this much for a simple spaghetti strap dress (The cape/shawl is separate and not sewn on). Also, the hemming on the bottom is unprofessional and messy. This is only noticable from the inside, but any seasoned seamstress would notice that as a huge NO NO. The shawl is not quite as sheer and see through as I would have liked but it's good enough.A note of advice: The shawl slides around like crazy, so I recommend you put on the dress and carefully pin/sew it into place--Honestly quick and easy and not a problem at all once it's done.Cons aside, I'm still very happy with this purchase and would gladly recommend it to a friend :)

I bought this dress to build on for a 1950s party. I didn’t need the cape but it’s honestly so cute I might wear it! It’s shorter than a historically accurate dress and it’s not a full circle skirt, but it’s the perfect pink and the stretch makes it so comfortable! I also bought a petticoat to go underneath and add some fullness, which looks great. The double straps are comfy, the stretch makes it look tailored to fit in my opinion, and the color is not too childish. I love this dress and might get another one in the future just to add to my normal, not historically themed, wardrobe.The dress is not lined, but it’s a good thick fabric, so it isn’t sheer or anything, and the stretchy material makes it flattering. It doesn’t highlight limbs, bumps, or fabric underneath. It’s also cool enough to wear out, so if you need this for an outdoor event, like Dapper Days at Disney, you would be fine! It’s not too hot or constricting.

I am pleasantly surprised that this dress does indeed look and feel as nice as it is in the photo. It is a lightweight but sturdy material that has some stretch. I got the wine color and love it. The pleats hold their shape without feeling "stiff" or "fluffy"I take my measurements regularly and it fit very nicely according to the chart. The *only* complaints I have are my personal preference and nothing against the dress itself...The chest part of the dress sits much higher on my chest than I'd personally like, but that does make this a modest fit - little to no cleavage for me.The little shawl is nice but for some reason LOVES to rotate on my shoulders with little to no movement haha.I love the witchy aesthetic so the whole thing is amazing, and the dress is wonderful as something casual or dressy to wear out and about. Love that the shawl is separate and therefore versatile

I think the quality of material was nicer then I expected. I put that it fit perfectly because if I was a size 12 it would have. I’m a size 10 and it was a little loose but I knew it would be. It has adjustable straps. The only annoying thing is the shawl/cake thing doesn’t like stay in place it kind of moves around but you could probably pin it to stay. I ended up winning a costume contest with this, the wig and some other accessories and makeup. I would buy from the seller again. Arrived on time

I was pleasantly surprised by how sturdy the dress fabric felt as my expectations were low. The dress fits well and the fabric is stretchy & comfortable. I absolutely adore the little capelet and will use it with other sleeveless shirts & dresses.

Es vestido esta muy bien y es de buena calidad. La tela es algo elástica así que puede ajustar en caso se haber elegido una talla menor. El mío quedó grande pero ya compré otro en la talla correcta.

My daughter specifically wanted this dress for her high school graduation. She wore it and looked lovely. It is made of good quality material and fit was perfect.
