Exactly what I needed
This is what I needed to power some extra fans. PLEASE NOTE: other reviewers think that they got bad cables because there are only 2 pins. That is by design, you cannot get pwm controll woth these. They will only power the fan at full tilt and will not control the speed they are either on or off no in between

Works well. Great for older PCs.
I used this to put an old Dell Inspiron 580 into a new case. (Fractal Design Focus G.)The Old Inspiron Motherboard only had two fan headers. One for the CPU and one for a rear 92mm case fan. I added these to use on the front 120mm fans. Worked great off of the SATA power adapter. Of course you're not going to get a variable speed fan connection, everything will run full blast. This wasn't a problem for me since most 120 mm fans run at about 1200 RPM max. Not very noisy. An easy solution to a common problem. If you're an old system builder like me? Give it a shot.

If you run Out of Ports
Some motherboards, especially the ITX size only have 2-3 fan sockets. If you want to use more fans you either have to get hubs that will take "X" fans and hook them to one socket, which must be done carefully because of the voltage limit; or you can get this and eliminate the problem and have two extra fans powered directly by your PSU SATA. A much safer way to run extra fans and you don't "tax" your motherboard power which, on smaller boards, is normally only one 8-pin power supply from the PSU to the MB.

Works great with leftover/extra SATA power cables for 3-pin fans.
These worked great in my build. Small form-factor motherboard meant not enough fan plugs. I didn't need my SATA power cables so these fit the bill perfectly. Cables were wrapped tightly and the pin clips were sturdy.

Solid
Well made fan splitters. I Did only need one, but for Amazon's mkt it was cheaper at the time to buy a two pack than a single cable. It powers a 120mm air intake fan for the front of my old Optiplex 9020mt and a GPU fan cooler under the gpu. Use it from the top sata port and looks nice and clean. goes were I needed it to.
