Barbara Barbara, We Face a Shi

I'm a life-long Underworld fan and I love the way they have evolved their sound over nearly 30 years, yet there's a recognisable thread that joins all their work. There are few tracks on any album that I'd ever skip to get to a favourite and Barbara Barbara is no different. On balance I'd say it's a great mixture of the pairs trademark combination of upbeat and reflective songs. I Exhale is a great opener - very upbeat, If Rah carries that theme on and through Low Burn and Santiago Cuatro, the album seems more heavyweight and less dance oriented. Then the third stanza begins with the soulful Motorhome. Ova Nova takes you back up a little and then the album finishes in the sublime Nylon Strung. It's a superbly crafted album and will please any fan of the band - and maybe hook a few new ones too.

I love Underworld and have everything they release. "Barbara Barbara..." does not disappoint. It is the usual mix of beats, melodies and unique vocals. To be picky, I prefer the Japanese edition that has an extra, brooding track, that makes the album more rounded. However, this is very nearly a 5star album recommended to old fans or new listeners alike.

I've been a fan of Underworld for a few many years, and try as I might, just couldn't get into their last album "Barking". But this is a definite return to form. Has anybody else noticed that some of the best music being made lately is by....ahem people of a certain age?

I was not originally a fan of these but my husband always loved them but through this album I am now a fan!

Good if not the best.

Personally i find this release to not to be as good as their earlier repertoire,need to give it a few more spins to get a better judgement!!

Probably my least favourite release from a band I have loved since 1993.

Ep that has some classic tracks must have for fans

Barbara Barbara, everything, everything. Underworld keep going and are just as brilliant today as ever.

This album reminds you why underworld are utterly brilliant. I own every underworld album and this one hasn't disappointed me. I love nylon strung and low burn - I've listened to them on repeat - this album is romantic and dreamy yet has classic dark underworld tones. The whole album is just excellent. Buy it !!

Good, but after the wait I feel they could have delivered more than the 40 odd minutes of music on CD capable of 70 + minutes....
