As others have said, most 3rd party batteries report capacities as advertised under MacOS but simply don't have the battery life they should with 'life remaining' forever being reduced faster than real time, e.g. expected life 3.5 hrs fully charged but only lasts an hour before enforced sleep. The EGOWAY is in a different category to all those cheap batteries. 1) it is more expensive, but still less than half that of the Apple original; 2) the rated capacity at 6,000 mAH is higher than the original and this is conservative - mine calibrated at 6177 mAh and 3) it restored my ancient MBP to a full 7hrs battery life, not seen since it was new!This is an excellent product well worth the small extra over the cheapest no-name compatible batteries. Rememebr to follow the battery calibration instructions first time and every couple of months.

I either have a faulty product or the reviews on amazon are fake. I tried to contact EGOWAY customer service. The have not responded. I get max 2 hours just searching the internet. Forget watching videos as the battery drains very quickly. As the reviewer before says - its pretty much rubbish. Holds very little charge. I contacted Amazon today on the web chat to complain and they were really helpful and said to return it, even though Im out of the 30 days free returns. I gave this battery 6 weeks. Did a PRAM reset SMC reset. Calibrated the battery as instructed. Still rubbish. Im presently at 26% at 1.5hrs usage! My advice is avoid this company for its lack of response to customer service and its products that dont hold a charge.Photo attached of usage. Game changer. This has given new life to a nearly ten year old MacBook. Ok it won’t get the newest Mac OS but as a school laptop for my son it is awesome. Previously we had to leave it attached to the power supply, and we all know what happens to those leads over the years! Now we’re getting 8 hours out of a cycle and I’m sure it’s showing more power than it did on the original!NOTE: when you put it in it comes up with a battery error. You need to reset the device so it recognises the new battery. It still works perfectly in this state but it’s easy to get rid of the error on the battery indicator. Just google how to reset the SMC. In my case I had to hold down the power button for 5 seconds. Sorted. I’m actually jealous and thinking about nicking it back, these were definitely the best MacBooks!

I ordered this product, on the strength of mostly-favourable Amazon customer reviews, in order to replace the battery in my mid 2012 MacBook Pro, which had reached 1000 previous charges and which was down to providing only between 2 and 3 hours battery-powered use on a full charge.. Using the MacBook on mains power had become impossible due to a tendency of the cursor to stick when not on battery power.Delivery was fast and the battery was well packaged. Installation was fairly easy, due more to the MacBook's clever design than to any feature of the new battery (other than conforming to the size and shape of the old battery)After switching-on, I was disappointed to find that the laptop just wouldn't start up, despite my trying every claimed sure-fire remedy that the online experts offer. So, it was off to the local computer-wizard, who WAS able start it up. As I type, I note from the on-screen read-out that the the new battery has lost exactly 34% of a full charge in just 1 hr 54m, so that's quite good, and goes some way towards easing the frustration of it not starting. for me after installation

The battery life is really poor and can overheat my computer. The installation was great and the inclusion of the screwdrivers were really helpful. I calibrated my battery as per instructions, but find it only lasts for 2 hours before running out. Importantly, the computer heats up and the fan goes into overdrive intermittently. It seems to do fine when it is charging, but when taken off charge the computer really heats up. I think the price advertised is very competitive, but the heating and battery life issue really made this a poor purchase.

Bought this in April 2020 as a battery replacement for my MacBook Pro. Lasted only 6 months! Completely useless now! Won’t even take an charge! Battery life was poor was expecting atleast 6 hrs with normal use being a brand new battery. But only got 4! Went back to my old Apple battery which even though it’s 10y old still works! Don’t waste your time and money on this product!

I bought this product to replace the original battery on my Macbook Pro mid-2012 model. Recently the battery has been draining fast. Once I checked the battery charge cycle I knew it was time to replace it. Rather than going to Apple store and spend fortune I decided to do it myself. The battery fit nicely and perfectly on my laptop. I just followed the step by step instructions on video I found on youtube.

I bought this to replace a replacement battery. This previous battery was hopeless: the MacBook ran hot, and the battery lasted no time at all. As result my expectations for any OEM product were low but I took one more chance on this one. Yesterday I installed it (a matter of moments) and put it through the full calibration process. During this I noticed that the laptop ran normally - no persistent fan noise - and it ran for 8 hours before it closed down. So, in short, I'm very relieved and pleased so far.
