Works on a Mazda MX5 mk3
Having searched the web for a tool to install a serpentine drive belt, I settled on this tool after reading lots of reviews. My car is a 2006 1.8 with no air conditioning (this may help with access). Removed battery, tray and earth strap. I have fitted a new tensioner as well. I made sure the groove on the fitting tool had no burrs to allow it to fit on the main crank pulley as well as possible. The magnet worked well though came loose so I had to super glue it back in place before using.I positioned the fitting tool at the bottom of the pulley (it just misses the steering rack hydraulic connections, luckily).Placed the belt on all the pulleys (apart from crank) and onto the tool as required. By pulling on the belt to give it tension and therefore making the tool grip the pulley, I then turned the engine with a rachet. Unless you remove the spark plugs, you'll fight against compression. I left the plugs in place. Its important to make sure the section of belt that needs to be fitted onto the pulley, is twisted in the right orientation (at this point it's against the side of the pulley). After a failed first attempt, I used silicon spray on a tissue to provide some lubrication on the side of the pulley. As you pull on the rachet, push the belt sideways on the pulley that is smooth with no retaining edges - you don't want it slipping off at the last minute. Also help the belt slide against the side of the pulley by giving it a little twist - you will see it wanting to move onto the pulley. It will then spring in place (this is where the lubrication helped on the second attempt). At least two full revolutions of the engine with the rachet will ensure the belt is tracking round all the pulleys correctly before replacing the battery and starting the engine. Had all done in half an hour.

All you need EVER
Bought a plastic one from H*%fords it failed almost instantly. This one did the job in 32 seconds, best £32 I have spent.

Works a treat!! .. Great time saver.
Great little gadget got the belt off with no damage in minutes.. I initially wedged it between the belt and the pully to stop it falling off before cranking pully then eased belt off .. Same for refit. Great time saver.

Does the job!
Brought this as I needed to replace the accessory belts on my 2005 Ford Fiesta which are stretch belts. Fitted this to the drive pulley, rotated it around and the belt slipped into place with no issues.

Simple but effective
Simple but effective tool. You need to turn the engine in opposite direction to install.

Does the job
This tool would perhaps work perfectly on cars with more space in the engine bay. In my case however the space to work with is very tight, and this full size tool was much too wide to work. I had to saw off half the tool (the ‘remove’ part, you may not need this side of the tools anyway, as you can cut the belt off if throwing the belt away). This was very difficult to saw off, which would actually give the product bonus points for being constructed of quality materials. But after cutting it in half, the tool worked just fine

Best tool for belts!
Definitely check out a how-to video, but this is a great tool! No screws, bolts, etc. It's so easy to use, I'm a Chef by trade and only have learned how to b a mechanic from the internet, but even I found this tool to work out for me! It's constructed of quality materials and the price was reasonable.

Adatto solo a pulegge medio-grandi
