Better than a competitor!
I retired recently and started taking 3 walks a day. I have 3 dogs ranging from 15 to 90 lbs & each dog gets 1 walk per day. My old Flexi leash is 20+ years old and wasn't designed for large dogs so I opted to buy a replacement. There are so many options with a range in prices. Initially, I opted for a brand (not this one) that also makes other pet items and the brand name was familiar to me. That leash only lasted 5 months until it locked permanently and I had to throw it away. I will compare this new leash to the known brand which I had to throw away.Immediately, this leash felt sturdy, with a nice weight in my hand. The other brand felt cheap, lightweight, and flimsy. This leash strap pulls in and out with ease as my dogs run around & explore. The other leash felt flimsy as it pulled in and out and I questioned when it would stop retracting. (The old leash permanently locked itself after only 5 months of use.)The button to stop the leash and release it is comfortable to push and release as I control my dogs while walking. Someone's review said the button was awkward, which I found the opposite to be true. Also, my other leash kept auto-locking when the dogs jerked it or I pulled quickly due to an upcoming hazard. Auto-locking is unsafe and you lose control right when you need it. This leash's button pushes and releases naturally to give you the control exactly when you need it. It seems sturdy and long-lasting. The other one kept auto-locking until it auto-locked permanently after only 5 months of use. I haven't used the lock on this leash as I rarely find that feature necessary. I only use an extendable leash when I want to allow my dogs freedom to run, but still be safe. I use a regular leash / lead for more controlled situations (groomer, vet's office, etc.).If you have a chewer, this leash does come with a short extension that is chew-proof to attach at the end of the leash. I haven't used it as I don't need it, but it certainly would come in handy with a new puppy learning to walk on a leash.I've only used it for 5 walks so far, but I really feel it'll last.

Nice leash!
Love it. long and reflective. Lock works good but my dog is small so not sure on big dogs. Overall feels sturdy like it will last.

Good quality
Bought in two colors for our Pomeranian and Pomsky. Great for their size and function perfectly.

Comes with bite-proof cable lead, but handle won't fit big hands
I bought this leash after our puppy bit through the last one in one bite.Pro: This retractable leash comes with a short plastic-coated cable lead that goes between the pup and the leash to keep them from biting through the webbing.Con: The handle is very small. I am a 5'7" woman with small/medium sized hands (glove size) and my four fingers barely (and not comfortably) fit inside the handle loop. It definitely won't fit a larger person. The retractor action isn't the smoothest - it doesn't pull the leash back in with super smooth motion like I've had with other leashes - but it does a fine job.It does have reflective ribbon woven into the leash webbing, but it is thin. And after about five walks, it has broken in places. It's still reflective, but now there are black-out spots.

A great retractable leash
This was a replacement for a similar leash that I liked but the cable started to shred. I use this for walking a large elderly dog that I allow to wander a bit to explore all those amazing scents and that lets her go next to the curb to do her business while I stay on the sidewalk until pickup time. The cable retracts smoothly and quickly and locks tight enough to restrain her should we encounter another dog that isn't so friendly. Our 14 year old dog Is some sort of Lab mix and weighs about 60 pounds. A heavier, stronger leash might have been needed when she was younger (she wasn't ours in those days) but she is by no means feeble now and is amazingly spry for her age. I have used this on walks daily for months and have never had a problem with the cable twisting or in any way failing to retract or release to full length. A good purchase at a good price.

Strength and quality
Actually works with strong dog!! My dog has taken me on a few walks lol and this leash has been great .I would purchase another if lost or worn out. It holds up very well where a similar one before did not.

A Good Buy
Great! Easy to use once getting the "feel" for it! I wanted another longer leash so my doggie would maintain her feel of " independence " while walking, sniffing, exploring, pooping, seeing, glaring, staring, growling, barking and..mean mugging!

Well built, strong spring, and heavy duty cord.
So far, working well. As all dog walkers know, time will tell. As you use one of these it can lose its “retract ability” but this model seems to have a little more zip to it. The cord is well made and looks like Tux won’t bite so much. Knots are always a possibility when your dog does one of those tricky circles around you chasing Fido. But it’s not the products fault. So check back in later next year and we will see if the 5 star holds up. For now I am happy and Tux is back home safe and sound from his early morning ritual!
