I made a lot of blankets and needed to extend the KnitIQ kit I already had. This is a great way to do that.

I crocheted a wheel pattern and the sides were so wonky I felt like throwing it away. This blocking mat saved the day. I got an extra 3 squares and folded the blanket in half to block it. :) I hope that works... only solution i could come up with given the space i have. The gridlines match perfectly with both the 9 squares and the additional 3 unlike other review... and are numbered for ease of putting together. The gridlines are super helpful to block evenly and there are also circular lines... The thickness is perfect and nice that it comes apart for storage. I can see these being a wonderul asset to my new found love of my old friend -- crochet.

I absolutely loves these! BUT be aware the “one inch” measurements aren’t quite right. One inch is 2.54 centimeters. The grid on this is exactly 2.5 centimeters. Over the length of 10 inches you are getting to a quarter or half inch off your mark. So decided at the beginning of your project which measuring device is going to be your gold standard and only use that item, if exact measurements are relevant to your project.

These were thick and sturdy. Others on the market are half as thick as these and arrive bent, not these--these are very nice thick foam that fits together like a puzzle. The lines made it easy to block my yarn work.

Read other reviews that said blue lines bleed. Still purchased and figured I would wash them with plain water but after 4 washings the paper towels still turned light blue but the dye did not smear on the blocks. I then tried washing with dish detergent. The picture is the color of the water when I was done, obviously light blue. If you are doing cold or steam blocking and these blocks get wet I don’t know if they will bleed onto the project. Interesting fact the black circles do not come off at all. Several of my projects are white and pastel and for them I will just use the wrong side of the block. If the project colors are dark I don’t think it would show, it is very light blue.
