I bought this to put in an outdoor cat house to keep a stray cat warm in the winter. It works very well. I put a towel over it so it doesn’t get too hot for the cat but keeps the house nice and warm.

I can’t give high points for chew proof when I’ve seen older pups chew through crates. It is designed to protect a supervised pup. I have a senior chihuahua and LhasoApso mix. I never dreamed my hairy Lhapso would be spread out across the pad soaking in the heat across his mid spine and hips. I smiled ear to ear. The low setting on a bad this big is actually too warm for my chihuahua. So I have to set it so that she can enjoy just a corner of it for warmth. I regret getting the large one for them to share and wish I had gotten them each a different one. Maybe later. Caution, it is easy to loose track and find it is on the couch arm, or something else if, like me, your pets no longer use a crate or kennel much.

My issue with this heating pad is the cord. The cord itself is chew proof up to the on off switch but the cord itself is pretty flimsy for an outdoor item. Also they really don't want you to use and extension cord but the cord is not very long and you would have to use and extension cord. I would be concerned about using this outside. I bought this for a feral cat but I don't think it would work for that so my indoor kitties use it where it can be plugged into an outlet that is closer. The pad is fine and it gets nice and warm but to me the cord is an issue.

At my home we have feral cats who sleep on our porch We have installed this underneath a blanket. And they really love sleeping on it. It's so nice to know that these animals can get in from out of the cold and be warm. Cat says meow, thank you.

It snows where i live and this get warm at best. I have two outdoor cats and its going to snow soon and this is not going to keep them warm

The cord is very short on this product and doesn’t allow for much length to place away from the wall.My cats have yet to figure it out but that’s not the products fault.Even in low it doesn’t feel warm.

My wife turned our house into a ferrel cat motel. Kind of funny, but also very nice. Problem is there are too many of these guys to let them sleep inside. So we have two cat houses where they sleep, but our winters are pretty cold so we got these pads.I was a little concerned about the quality at this price, but they work well. I also read reviews saying cats chewed into the cord, which is not thick, so I positioned them so the cord was under the pad and not tempting anyone.Connected them to a timer so they turn on and off automatically and they were an instant hit.
