Great bat for smaller hitters!!
My son is 3 ft 10 in tall and weighs around 49 pounds. He’s only 6 yrs old and on the smaller side of his 8u little league team. He’s been swinging with an old aluminum 25 in 15 oz 2 1/4 in barrel bat. I’ve been looking for a longer lightweight bat with a bigger barrel for him but most of the other bats are still too heavy. We considered the Rawlings Threat 27/15 -12 and Easton Ghost X 27/16 -11 however after trying out his teammates bats, they seemed heavier than stated on each swing. I think it’s because of the larger 2 5/8 barrel. The drop rates are very misleading because most of these bats usually weigh 1-2oz more than it’s rated. The Threat’s true weight is over 17oz and Ghost X is closer to 18. This explains why my son was having such a hard time getting the bat around on each swing with very little control. We were so excited to see the Solo 619 speed -13. It’s just like the very popular Solo -11; however, it has a 2 1/2 in barrel instead of 2 5/8 barrel which is only 0.125 inch smaller. This allows the bat’s weight to come down by 2 oz which is quite significant while still achieving a larger barrel. Although my son’s bat is 28 in long, it is light and he has no problems swinging it. The 28/15 -13 is rated at 15oz but has a true weight of about 16oz. It is actually lighter than the Threat and GhostX but is an inch longer. I was initially worried the longer 1 inch length would be a problem but the ballistic end cap makes the bat very balanced and easy to swing. My son hit 2 line drives and got on base twice the first time he used the bat. The bat had great pop and the ball went further than he’s ever hit. Overall, I’m extremely impressed with the bat and would highly encourage anyone to check it out for their young hitters who are making the transition from tee-ball to little league. The best part is I got it at a great price and it was less expensive than the other 2 bats!

Good Quality, Amazon's Price was unbelievable!
First let me say that the suggested retail of this bat is $180. If you are reading this review and considering paying that much for it, I would pass as there are lots of other bats in that price range. I bought it however because Amazon had a price that was too good to pass up (I can't post it because it is against their review policy). My son is 4 feet tall, 7 years old and in 8U coach pitch baseball. Prior to me buying this bat he was using a tee ball bat that was 25 inches and 13 ounces. Realizing he needed a longer bat, I went and bought him a cheap "USA Baseball" bat, and quickly realized that you get what you pay for. The bat was fine, but it was 28 inches and 21 ounces. . . . which I quickly figured out that my son was not strong enough to swing (at least not quickly). He was late on every pitch, so as a result I set out to find a bat that was longer (27-29 inches) yet light enough for him to swing. This bat is perfect! I was trying to decide between which length to go with, but ultimately decided on the 28 inch. I was afraid the 29 inch would be too long and the 27 inch would be too short in a year. I figured the 28 inch would be the safest and he could use it for at least a few seasons. It is a tad long, but my son just chokes up on the bat if needed. The bat is so light that the extra length has not been an issue. It's 15 ounces which is only 3 ounces heavier than his tee ball bat. The ball pops off the bat nicely. We have been using it daily for 3 weeks with no issues. On other bat reviews people seem to complain about denting. This one will show scuff marks from the ball (which is going to happen on every bat), but so far no dents. It is make in China, but the quality seems to be very good. The whole bat came in a box, and the bat was totally sealed in plastic. I am really happy with the purchase, now every kid on the team wants to use my son's bat!

Great, light bat, but still packs good pop
My son loves this bat. He is 7 years 5 months old, about 53" tall and very thin for his age and size (about 60 pounds). He is not the most athletic kid and has struggled with baseball. His last bat was a -8, but that was charitable. It was actually closer to -6, and I kind of always wondered if it wasn't too heavy. Since he got this bat, his swing has improved 10 times over. He is now able to swing the bat fast while still maintaining good batting form. Whereas last season I had to bribe him to practice (read: promise him extra iPad and/or TV time), this season he actually asks to go to the park to practice his batting. And because of the extra practice and this lighter bat, his swing has really improved. Last season he was usually the 8th or 9th batter. This season he's always in the top four. This bat has really given him the confidence he needed to continue to practice and play. It also packs pretty good pop. I would buy this bat again in a heartbeat.

Fantastic bat, increased so many kids' hitting on the team!
We bought this bat for our 7yr old son, who also uses a much heavier LS bat. This didn't turn out to be the right bat for him, he just needs & like a heavy bat- he's huge for his age. However, there are a ton of smaller, less experienced kids on our team and their batting stance, accuracy- everything- has increased amazingly with this bat. Almost every kid on our team asks to use it in every game. It helps those whose bats were too small/too heavy, too short- it helps with reachers and high swingers. Parents constantly ask If they can buy it from us or where to get one. Definitely an excellent bat for a less experienced little leaguer or small/less strong kiddos. May work great for some bigger kids too, just didn't turn out to be the perfect bat for my kid but it is well worth the money to see the other kids hitting so well!!!

Muy ligero!!
El diseño muy bueno ya que tiene un barril de 2 1/2 y además es muy ligero. A mi hijo de 7 años le encantó y mejoró mucho su confianza al momento de pararse en la caja bateo.
