The steelbook is great & the uncut version is only on the 4k disc apart from that a great film & lost of Action

This action movie is near perfect for telling a story, a realistic depiction of a battle and how intell can help or can mislead in an engagement. The cast was superb, with many full characters with affable familiarity. There is so much going on, unless you are super intelligent, you need to watch a few times to see everything. Ridley and Tony Scott films are some of the most entertaining movies ever created.

Stands up as one of the Great War movies, Scott’s BHD should be in everyone’s collection. The steelbook doesn’t bring anything new, but it looks fantastic.

I think this is a great movie, action packed and depicts quite well the bond and camaraderie among soldiers. It is one of my favorite movies, one that I never get tired of watching. It is inspired in a real situation, in Mogadishu, where a few tens of special forces US soldiers get caught in a very complex situation, both due to the incompetence of the politicians who sent them there, ill equipped to deal with a very hostile environment and the inability of their commanders to stand their ground for their troops. Unfortunately, the story of the latest US wars is full of such examples.

I've seen this film before so I knew I liked it - a graphic depiction of war pretty much how it is. Gone is the 'bang, you're dead' ethos common in Hollywood films, here people are shot and take time to die, even if they're cut in half by an RPG. Could do with a little more from the Somalian's side - Bowden's book was very good at giving you insights on how the Somalian's saw the Americans and how the battle developed from their PoV, but I guess the film would have been an hour longer if it had followed the same strategy.
