Long commercial for D&D
It's a shame they had to work with the Wizards of the Coast on this. It seems to have forced it to be nothing but an ectremely long infomercial for D&D 5e.The adult humor was neutered, not at all like a Rick and Morty cartoon. "But wait! That's not all!"I guess it would be fine for a Rick and Morty fan who doesn't know much about role play tabletop games. It might sell them on 5e and thats a pretty easy intro to tabletop gaming, i guess. But anyone already familiar will read this and feel like it's mansplaining RPGs.The beauty of a Rick and Morty story is knowing it will take a completely unexpected turn. But not this. I paid nearly $15 for a commercial from word one to the extremely predictable, telegraphed conclusion.

Great for fans of both
I loved this. I think it's a must have for any D&D player that also loves Rick and Morty. I also think it would be great for Rick and Morty fans that want to start playing D&D, but aren't sure where to begin. It breaks down the rules in an easy to understand way while using the Rick and Morty humor that we all know and love.

Best R & M tale ever, even Pickle Rick
I love Rick and Morty as much as the next cynical millennial on the continent. Tabletop gaming has an even stronger attraction from my heart.I recommend this story whole-heartedly. It flawlessly nails everything the fans on either side want.My hopes are that Rick and Morty invade another beloved franchise, and then bestow upon that tale the love and care with which this one was written.Buy this. You’ll love it. The world needs more.

Just because two things are awesome doesnt mean they go well together
One giant advertisement for 5th ed. I like DnD and Rick and Morty but this was the worst kind of sell-out pandering. They forgot to put in anything remotely funny or amusing. The plot is cringy and consist of shoehorning the characters into talking about the game.Overall, I found this derivative and tone deaf to the target audience. Most people who would buy this would already know at least a little bit about DnD. Explaining to them how the game works through boring, unfunny exposition is not necessary. And if they DON'T know whats going on, a quick websearch would explain it far better than this comic.

Fantastic Story for fans of both franchises
This was absolutely fantastic. I was skeptical going in, but the writers did a truly fantastic job of capturing the tone of the Rick and Morty television series while also encapsulating the history and fun of D&D. I would highly recommend this to fans of either (as it may pique your interest in the other) and as an absolute must to fans of both. Great work!

Great book, with minor character flaw.
I very much enjoy both Rick and Morty and D&D, and this comic hits a lot of the right buttons. The art is great. Having all the alternate covers (which this 4 part comic has a ton of alternates) and character stat sheets included is greatly appreciated. My only issue is some characterization of Rick that doesn't feel very true to his character, but even that doesn't feel like enough to knock off a star. Would definitely continue reading if they ever decided to continue with this crossover.

Great Read Designed Specifically for your Predictable Good Taste Brain
This is what happens when the algorithms of our overlords seek to maximize profits by seeing the overlap in audiences and fans of intellectual property and mash them together.Do you like DnD? Do you like Rick & Morty? Do you like comics?Of course you do, or you would have never seen this in your recommendation list. Its a fun self-contained story that one could see as a storyboard for an episode of the show. If this popped up in any feed for you, buy it, the overlords know you'll love it!

Mashup
I enjoy the Rick and Morty seasons, and roleplayed through AD&D 2nd edition. I've been tempted by previous comics, and by various board games with Rick and Morty, but none appealed. Then I discovered that there is going to be a roleplaying game released soon - preordered. We'll see how that is, but I took a preview of this comic, and this time took the plunge. I like that it's set at that time when Jerry is not living with the rest, as I'm not a fan of his - as was the intention. I like the progress of the story, the rise and fall of Rick, Jerry, and Summer - who, after Rick, is my favorite. Morty and Beth get their moments. So, the comic feels faithful to the characters I feel I know from the episodes. I'm actually interested in going back now and trying the other comics, just to see if they are this well written. The highlight is that moment Jerry is explaining where he and Rick are different, a well earned moment. As for the D&D side of things, I find the current recasting of all the 2nd edition AD&D stuff into the new iterations funny more than anything. The references to them in the comic brought smiles to my face, because I recall the originals. This medium is broad enough from the roleplaying products that I don't think it matter whether the reader is newer or older to those references. I enjoyed picking out the spoken and visual references - and I laughed outright at the inclusion of the old animated series. As I have those on DVD, I can very well imagine an actual animated mashup. And, yes, the Dungeon Master can suck it. So, to sum up, a solid comic that I devoured in one sitting. I'm looking forward to the second. Ehy only 4 stars? The same reason I've hesitated buying previous comics: The censorship. Swear, damn it. Still, the story, the crossover, the characters are all good. I am glad to have finally taken the plunge into the comics with this one.

Either/Or is probably enough to enjoy it ......
It’s Rick&Morty and D&D. If you like either, you’ll probably like this graphic novel. If you like both, you’ll probably really like it.Me? I’ve never really taken any interest in Rick&Morty, but I played D&D since the very first Chainmail/Whitebox through to 3.5 .... and there were enough D&D references to keep me interested. 4* from me, 3* would have felt a bit mean.I particularly enjoyed the 3rd and 4th parts (the 1st and 2nd not so much) and all the ‘bonus’ illustrations at the end.

Pretty weak rendition of the "sucked into D&D world" cliché
To be honest this didn't really do it for me. I've seen enough real world (or sci-fi) characters pulled into a fantasy setting style stories over the years, and this one didn't really bring anything fun or new to the genre. Add in that one of the story elements is "they actually become their characters" and suddenly it's not even the rick and morty cast in a D&D world, but some people who look like them and act and speak differently. Disappointing and not one I'd recommend.

Great Fun
Rick and Morty vs. Dungeons & Dragons is a fun-packed graphic novel that fits perfectly into the show cannon. It may be written Patrick Rothfuss and Jim Zub instead of the show creators but you wouldn't know as they capture the feel of the show perfectly. The book is split into four episodes each of which is stands alone well but still feeds into the overall story. It's also wonderfully illustrated with the cameos from D&D hall of famers a particular highlight for me.You may be wondering if like D&D to enjoy it and to that I'd answer you don't, but it helps. If you're a fan of the show you'll enjoy it regardless but if you're not in to D&D you will miss some references and in jokes. The best thing about Rick and Morty vs. Dungeons & Dragons is that it feels just like an episode of the show. Funny, irreverent and packed with some superb illustrations and a smattering of D&D banter it's and well worth a look.

A great story cross over
This was a brilliant read, the cross over into the DnD realm was a great twist, working through the different versions was an amazing idea, a nod to Gygax in Ricks original gaming group, up through to 5th edition, Morty asks what happened to 4th and Ricks answer was just brilliant. "We don't talk about 4th". There were so many nods to other D&D characters, including the animated series stuff. I would love to see this one in the next series of the animated show. It would be a great addition and one to add to the collection. Glad I read this, would recommend if you enjoy R&M and D&D.

A fun romp if somewhat selling DnD
First DnD is awsome. But this book tends to be a rundown or differsnt editions of dnd and a sales pitch for 5th.Usual rick n morty humour, i find the comics to be a little less appealing than the tv show thats just prefrence. All round a fun read
