Fan works perfectly, but you will definitely want to follow the tutorial (see my review for the link)
I installed this in a 17" late 2011 Macbook Pro and it fit and worked perfectly. The original fan was making a very loud grinding noise and this solved it. The installation was not a very big deal, but is definitely not for you if you are not comfortable opening up your MacBook Pro. You must be very careful with the opening of the computer as well the removal and replacement of all connections. I was impressed when replaced my original fan for absolutely the same fan, so you can be 100% sure that it is a right choice.

Works great.
Installed and working fine in my old 17" MBP. I think they are quieter than the original fans.

The fan was easy to install and it works very well. I am extremely pleased with the quality.
