desertcart.com: The Adjustment (Program Book 5) eBook : Young, Suzanne: Kindle Store Review: Suzanne Young is a master - I feel like I say this all the time, but Suzanne Young is a master. She amazes me every time I read a new book in The Program series with the genius way she writes the books and connects them. She has this ability to take a detail you don’t even think is important and making it into something you never expected in this series. She did it in all 4 of the other books I have read, and The Adjustment is no different. It’s hard to really talk about Tatum and Weston’s stories without giving too much away. The Adjustment takes place after The Treatment (book 2) ended so The Program is no more and Tatum is now living in a world of after. No one knows what the effects of The Program are and how to actually go back to life before The Epidemic. It’s an uncertain time where people are scared about the effects from The Program. Returners are different. Their memories are gone and some are acting out. Because of this The Adjustment is created. The Adjustment is a way for returners to get their memories back and to start to feel connections to the people that were once taken from them. It is a program that is created with bits and pieces from Suzanne’s other books in the series and ties everything together nicely. This is what I love about Suzanne’s writing and these books in particular. She manages to connect everything is a way you don’t really expect. She brings you back to the beginning, to everything you know and makes it all work together flawlessly. It is like the Godfather trilogy in a way. The movies weren’t released chronologically so you find out the after before you see the before. But when watched as a whole it all makes sense. That is what Suzanne has done with The Adjustment. She has made all the stories and couples that I know and love and made them all intersect in some strange way that just works. Like I said, I can’t say too much about the actual book without giving away previous books and the important parts of The Adjustment. Just know that Suzanne does what she always does and your stomach is in your throat by the end and you are left wanting to know everything and needing the next book. In case you were wondering this is how you should read this series: The Program The Treatment The Remedy The Epidemic The Adjustment The Complication (out 2018) Basically add this series to your TBR. Review: Good ready for all ages - This is a series that my 15 year old started in school and is hooked.

Shocking
I'm shocked. Honestly, I wasn't sure if The Adjustment would live up to the hype I've built over the course of reading the series, but it did! If anything, The Adjustment exceeded my expectations. Suzanne Young wrote a story full of emotion, excitement, and plot twists. There were so many plot twists by the end of the book to the point where all I could do after I finished reading was stare at the last page with my mouth hanging open in shock.

Mixed feelings
Really I'd give this 3.5 stars on the story, but Ms. Young is so fabulous with words I can overlook the somewhat drag of the first half. If you've read the other books in the series (you really must) you know Sloane and James well and likely fell in love with their epic romance. Same with the prequel featuring Quinlan and her bf. Both plots were fast, suspenseful, but also character driven. The problem I had with this book was I couldn't really connect with Tatum or Wes for almost the first half of the book. I understand Ms. Young probably wanted to tell the story from the POV of someone who is dealing with the aftermath of The Program (Book 1), but it forced her to tell not show the relationship between Tate and Wes, and I wasn't invested in them. And the other characters - I didn't even like best friend Nathan, he seemed arrogant and annoying. That said, the second half, where they actually get to The Adjustment (yes spent all that time leading up to what was clearly going to happen, should've been condensed), took off fast. You finally see the relationship between this young couple and feel for the lost memories. But still, the suicides mentioned were not characters you had any investment in; it was like they were just put there to remind you of the epidemic. They needed fleshing out. Now the good stuff. Like I said the second half took off, with suspense, romance, forbidden trysts, betrayal, and basically a mind blow toward the end (though I did figure it out a few chapters earlier). Many questions were left, and I hope to see this new incarnation of Tate and Wes as the epic love so wonderful with Sloan and James. As always, I highlighted passages of just beautiful or funny text and dialogue. Ms. Young is a very gifted wordsmith. I'll definitely read the next book, and even with the parts that annoyed me here, I still recommend this book. Young is better in her worst book than many authors are in their best. One caveat to Amazon: my book was formatted incorrectly. I received several messages to delete and download again, to no avail. Very annoying. I look forward to the next book in this series and strongly recommend it to teens and adults alike. I've read each book twice, I think!

Never disappoints
I’ve never read a series so well written. I’m never sure how I feel about restarting a story with a different set of characters, but this is excellent. The entire storyline is very relatable. The only thing I could probably mark it down for is it stops in a bad place, forcing you to read the next book, but for a story this good, I have no hesitation in buying the next part of the story.

Read
It took me a while to finish reading this, not because it’s hard to read. I really enjoy this book series. I started the book a while ago, I don’t remember much about the start of it. But in the middle and some of parts at the end, they made you feel all the feelings. Definitely read the series.
