If you are looking for something for a virtual graduation or quick photo - this is perfect. Otherwise, the material is very crappy and tears easily. I literally wore mine for ONE super quick photo session and it unraveled and is unusable. I was so upset I wasn’t able to get my photo shoot done until after the return window, so now I am stuck with this super crappy hood that I can’t wear to future ceremonies.I will be purchasing an official hood from my university’s rep and I suggest you do the same if you need one long term.

Now that I'm on the faculty of a university, I'm required to wear academic regalia for a lot events. When I graduated from grad school, my alma mater only rented hoods. I was happy to find a source that constructed hoods that match the way the colors were laid out for my school. It takes a little bit of time to receive, but it is worth the wait.

Great quality. Many of us have universities that just let you borrow your gear for the event. But being in education I NEED my regalia. This is a perfect and affordable unit. It looks just like the one I wore on graduation. No sacrificing quality.

Excellent value for the money! Was so surprised when I opened it up. Has a matte finish and is perfect for any educator that has to wear this yearly for commencement ceremonies.

The flock band was a inexpensive looking velveteen. It does not look and feel like the smooth, low pile velvet that normally comes on a hood. I am not wearing it. I am going to wear the one I already had.
