Other reviewers have noted that the shaft is metal. This is incorrect... it is a plastic with a thin metal insert. The bowl tends to get much hotter than any of my other pipes. Also, it is fairly heavy. The filters used are 9mm, and the filter that comes with it is complete garbage... plus it already has a stinger. Overall it is fine. I don't use it much anymore.

Smokes like a dream. Beautiful pipe and nice construction. I only had one issue, which was that the bowl can get very hot and may burn you if you hold it wrong.

I found this thing difficult to clean. Maybe I'm not doing it right. I'll post a picture of the end where the bowl connects to the stem, maybe a regular pipe-smoker wouldn't have any trouble. I bought this for two reasons: 1- I am a huge nerd, and this reminds me of Gandalf; 2- It was a really good dealIn short, glad I tried it, wish I knew more about pipes and pics to come.

No problems, it's a pipe, it does pipe stuff. I was a little disappointed that the design on the bowl is obviously screen printed on rather than truly marbled as the photo suggests...it makes it look a little cheap if you really examine it, but for most purposes it's fine.
