shoe rack
I used the door shoe rack to save extra space in my patio. Instead of having an outdoor shoe rack take up room in my small patio, I decided to purchase a door shoe rack and installed it inside the laundry room of the patio. This product is ideal for saving room. It is also very easy to install. The product was just as described in the listing and sturdy. I love this product, worth it for the price.

*Easy* To Assemble, One *Flaw* Though...UPDATE!
The GRAYLINE HOUSEWARES OVER THE DOOR SHOE RACK is easy to assemble, but the directions are on the outside of the box. It took about 5-10-minutes to put it together and no tools are required unless you want to anchor the rack to the door with the enclosed screws. For men's shoes, I'm able to fit 2 1/2 pair on one row, with 2 pairs of sneakers side-by-side and 1 pair with the left on top of the right, for the 1/2, next to the 2 pair*. Some skinny loafers/sneakers will fit 3 pair on a row if you squeeze it in just right. The height of each row can be adjusted easily; you just have to reposition the rack by sliding it into the corresponding slot on the side track, so you have room for your high-tops or work boots. It comes with plastic brackets that can either be screwed in or tapped (with the enclosed screws or double-sided foam tape), so that the sides of the rack will be anchored to the door that way it won't swing or bow. I used the foam tape, but it didn't hold once i put all my shoes on the rack and the middle section started to bow from the weight*. But I don't want to use the screws because they might pull out as well. The only issue I have is that the rack is pretty wide so my door handle gets caught on it* . It's a little annoying and perhaps could be fixed if I anchored the rack with the screws but like I said, I'm afraid the screws might pull out so I'm just leaving it alone.Other than that it's a pretty decent over-the-door shoe rack that should last since for a long time.*See photos above.UPDATE 06/19/2012I had to downgrade my rating because after months of use I had a problem with the rack moving when I would close my bedroom door and all of my shoes, mostly sneakers, would fall between the rack and the door. This was really annoying because it would happen in the middle of the night or when I was in a hurry and as soon as one pair started slipping down, it would cause a chain reaction and most of my shoes would end up on the floor. Because of this I went out and bought a different one. I don't think it'll happen with high heels or dress shoes as much because the heel gives the shoe something to hold onto, but with sneaker and their flat soles they'll slide right off in between the door and the rack, unless you screw it to the door.

Overall good
Nice design and relatively sturdy, easy to assemble. Love the adjustable shelves - most over the doors don't have this. I would definitely stick with the 24 pair and not go higher - no way it could support the weight of more shoes. Not recommended for heavy stuff and not sure you could even load it with 24 pair. I use this to mostly store folded hoodie sweaters and it works great for lighter things like that - scarves, small towels etc. and a few pair of shoes. A pretty tight squeeze around the door knob but I got it to fit, so if you have a smaller width door it may not work. Overall satisfied.

One Star
Piece of garbage.Very flimsy. Not even worth the money. Way better products out there. Donated to thrift store.

Great storage.
Nice and fairly strong. Holds 18 pair of men's size 12 shoes, when placed on their sides. And, I have not had any of the shoes fall off when moving the door.

just ok
the concept is good. unfortunately it is actually divided into two parts which probably for packing and shipping convenience. however, the connection makes the rack stick out in the midde easiy and the shoes will fall down. not recommended if you can have better choice.

Great Rack / Poor Instructions
The rack is surprisingly sturdy and well built, not a flimsy wire frame. I prefer this style of design over shoe pockets for storing other items in empty spaces. I wear a size 8 men's shoe and found that each shelf only accommodates 5 shoes, not an issue for me but something to consider. This rack is really designed to be screwed into the door to prevent it from lifting away from the door. The only negative is that the instructions are pretty bad (hence the 4 stars instead of 5). A retired Boeing mechanic came over to help me install it and even he had a difficult time understanding the instructions.

Good deal for the price
This would be perfect if it wasn't so wide - 3" less would allow me to shut my closet door. I finally put it on the outside of the closet. The racks do bend a bit when you fill them up, but it looks like they won't break. The nicest feature about this rack is that the shelves are adjustable. I can fit ankle boots on it easily.
