Great Product
I purchased 4 GOOD TO-GO meals for a recent 5 day/4 night camping-hiking trip into the Grand Canyon. The meals take longer to hydrate than some other meals on the market ( 15 to 20 minutes) but I feel that they are worth the extra time as they seem to be made from better quality ingredients. My favorite meal of the 4 was the Chicken Gumbo.

Meh
I was hoping to like this because it’s one of the few backpacker meals that isn’t loaded with salt, but unfortunately it’s not very good. It was spicy but not flavorful. I’ll still probably bring one along my next backpacking trip but i’m hoping to find something better.

True Cajun here! This isn't Gumbo, read on!
First I would like to say that I am FROM southern Louisiana where Gumbo is something we eat a couple of times a week so I had high hopes for this but it fell short. This is NOT gumbo, it’s more of a dirty rice/jambalaya mash up.The rehydration wasn’t great so the okra and chicken are going to be chewy. The flavor is decent but it’s not a gumbo flavor. Also, it’s too Spivey for what it is. You are going to sweat a little when eating it.Is it decent? Sure, will it fill you up? Somewhat because it’s rice. But is it Gumbo? No.Three stars for effort

Somehow both too spicy and too bland.
Also, a huge portion size. My wife and I ened up packing some out.

Great Backpacking Food
This was very good for a dehydrated meal. Much better than some of the junkie dehydrated meals that have a bunch of chemicals in them. This is my go to backpacking dinner.

Got the job done without excessive sodium
I'm looking for backpacking food and unfortunately 99% of the products out there have excessive amounts of sodium.Preparation is simple. Toss some boiling water in the bag and wait 15 minutes. It's a bit soupy and you'll definitely need to stir it up first.Shared this to others at a campsite.I'm used to a low salt diet so flavor was fine. A very slight kick with the spices and no emergency trips to the nearest tree. A bit on the bland side but not really a deal breaker. Others who are used to over salted and processed foods complained that it needed salt.Would I buy this again? Yes. As of right now it is one of the few prepackaged options that isn't going to overload you with salt.

Has no flavor other than hot
I shared this with a buddy, and we both agreed. There was no flavor to this item other than hot. It was super bland, but burns the tongue. I don't plan on buying another meal from this company. Waste of $14.
