ColumbiaMen's Fairbanks Low Shoe

Comfortable with great traction
I really like these shoes for daily wear. I would classify them as casual outdoor shoes. They are very comfortable but lack the support of a true outdoor or hiking boot/shoe. If you're thinking these are replacements for something like a Keen hiking shoe, they're not built to the level of a Keen. But that's ok, they serve a purpose and for the price, I'm very happy with them. They fit true to size for me and they've held up very well over the past couple of months. They look good, have great traction, and for the price I'm very happy. For heavy duty trail use they may fail sooner than something like a Keen, but then again, you paid less than half the price, so maybe that's ok. I think they perform very well for the price range.

Loving these shoes!
First pair of Columbia shoes I have ever owned. First pair of hiking shoes as well. Couldn't be happier. They are super comfortable, light weight, and have great traction. Would buy again

Eight month daily driver review: great all-rounder shoe, could use some improvements
Purchased this pair in May 2023, have been using it as a daily driver for work and for weekends in the past eight months.Fit: true to size, I use Nike casual shoes as a generic benchmark and it feels the same in size.Pros:- Awesome support! I can stand in these for over four hours without feeling fatigue. In other pairs of office and casual dress shoes I've tried, I can't stand in them for more than a maximum of two hours before feeling uncomfortable. Something about these Fairbanks sole designs allow long time standing more comfortably, I'm guessing it has to do with the studded design to allow pressure on the foot to release.- Great water resisting. While it's not goretex nor waterproof, it does a nice job of preventing any light water splashes that is caught on the fabric to reach your feet. This was tested in the rain and in riverbeds, I've noticed the material keeps the water on the outer layer. There is aCons:- Ankle strap is somewhat useless, a revision consideration is to loop it to make it function better.- Can trap heat inside, if you are a sweaty feet person, this is going to happen with certainty. This is due to the padded suede design on the back plus the main fabric weave doesn't ventilate quickly.- It's not grippy in slippery conditions, one example being marble floors and soap. But in the ice, snow and mountains it has no problem for conditions with generic forest trails. Have not attempted on trails made up of loose rocks. After 8 months of daily use, some cosmetic threads are starting to come out on some corners of the laces and the bottom sole has already worn off that where the logo is almost no longer visible. This is a bit quick for maybe 300-500 miles of use. Overall 4.25/5 stars, there is a lot of room for improvement if Columbia decides to add features in the next revision.

Comfortable and worthy shoes
Holds up well in different weather and outside conditions. Well worth the price, and really comfortable,

Great for low traction surfaces
Will purchase these again.Noticeably safer on icy/snowy pavement. Likely due to the multitude of small-ish rectangular lugs on the bottom of the outsooe.Comfortable (if socks are worn). Large toe box. Not exactly warm in colder climates but breathe well. Minimalistic design is acceptable for winter month business casual wear (I went with black). Not a highly technical shoe with all the modern updates found in a more expensive walking show. But still a good value considering the price for a "brand name" item.

Very comfortable with great support!
I love these. Great support throughout the day and very comfortable and true to size. After wearing a pair one week at work I bought a second in a different color. I’m on hard cement floors running around for 10 hours a day. These made my feet feel amazing after work. I’ll see how durable they are but honestly regular tennis shoes last a three months for me and the best (previous favorite) shoes could go almost 9-11 months before they gave out. They were much more expensive than these. Highly recommended!

Near perfect shoes except for comfort
These shoes are exactly what I was looking for to wear on a recent trip to the far east. They match all my clothes, look great, have great grip on a variety of terrain and are durable and well-made. You can wear them anywhere and even hike in them, they have good support. With the laces tucked in they slip right on and off yet fit great when worn. They're almost perfect except for one problem, they are not comfortable. Even after walking several miles to break them in, they are just not as comfortable as a good walking/running shoe should be and this makes a massive difference in fatigue when your are traveling or out and about for long periods of time. Don't get me wrong, they are probably ok for around town but don't expect great cushioning like a good running shoe. If Columbia focused on a better, more comfortable sole, they would have a 5 star winner.
