I bought the Koutech Dual Channel USB 3.0 Card to add USB 3.0 to my HP Computer. The card shorted out my power supply even when the 4 pin power cable was not attached. I returned it to Amazon. I then ordered the UtechSmart PCI-E to USB 3.0 with 4 Ports and it works great and only $20. For anyone wanting to frequently backup data I recommend SyncToy. It is a Microsoft program you can download free that synchronizes folders in place. I placed my primary 80gb work folder on my external drive and my laptop. At the end of the day, I synchronize the folders on all devices. If I take my laptop to a meeting and update some files, I then synchronize the laptop to the desktop and external drive. Therefore, I always have three copies of my work that is updated daily and it takes only a few minutes. Only the new and changed files are updated in place. SyncToy has a preview that shows you what will change.
