Amazing value!!
I ordered these because telework requirements during COVID-19. My work laptop is a Macbook Pro (15" Retina, mid-2015). My external screen at work is a Thunderbolt monitor; however, it is stuck at work. So after a meeting where they told us 1. we could not go to get our stuff, and 2. no end is currently in sight, I decided to look for Macbook Pro compatible monitors. I wanted 4K to at least match the Retina resolution, while also being able to simultaneously not being too expensive. After a bit of looking on Amazon (and a competitor), I stumbled up this monitor (listed on both). The good:1. Value. The value for this monitor is ridiculous. 27", 4K60 (60 Hz) with the right cables. Price is great. Comes with DP and HDMI cables, and supports two (2) inputs each, so I can loop in my personal laptop or desktop and do split or picture-in-picture. Mine have no dead pixels or issues.2. Brightness. These screens are up to 350 nits / 350 cd/m2, and they truly are. The initial power on blue, and subsequent whites were so bright I had to turn down brightness from the default 90 to 60. But it's very vibrant.3. Compatibility. Like I had mentioned, I was looking for 4K monitors compatible with my Macbook Pro. And these are. The HDMI cable gave me 4K30 (30 Hz), but that wouldn't work for me. The motion was a bit jarring at times. Plus the MB only has 1 HDMI port. So I purchased 2 MiniDP-to-DP cables, and I have been working with both monitors at 4K60 since! Much more screen than I had at work previously!4. Ease of setup and packaging. They came in nice boxes, neatly packaged so that you pull it out horizontally and lift off the top styrofoam layer. You can even attach the base before lifting it off, all via 1 screw. The bad:Not really anything bad. I guess the worst part was I kept pressing where the power light is thinking it was the switch and the unit wasn't working. Didn't realize until I saw part of the instructions that the switch (and controls) are on back center underneath. No comment: I have no tried to play any games on it, but I imagine it'd be the same as any of the 60 Hz monitors I have. Probably a bit better with the SmartResponse feature. YouTube videos have been fine.I will probably wind up purchasing another one or two once I return to work, as I may bring these two into work--they are that good!

great size/resolution for programming
I got this monitor because my organization upgraded SAS EG to version 8, which requires a large format monitor to work optimally. I was able to set this up with a USB C to DisplayPort cable, and, even though the laptop graphics are only driving 8-bit color, everything looks quite nice with nightlight turned on. Without nightlight, the screen runs very cool and whites are clearly blue tinged. I use 125% scaling rather than the 150% windows recommendation, sit between 2 and 3 feet from the monitor, and everything works well. I did have to increase the cursor size to keep from losing it on the Philips monitor.I like the size and resolution so much that I'm weighing the benefit of getting a second Philips 4k monitor to use two large monitors rather than one large and two smaller monitors. In all, if you're doing coding work, this monitor works quite well and comes in at an impressive price point. I can't speak to color accuracy other than it does strain your eyes if you don't apply some type of blue filter. Text is clean, there's no noticeable ghosting, and 27" is just fine for a 4k resolution if you use the monitor at a standard distance (about 2 or 2.5 feet).

The darkside approves (Read all before you make a decision)
I’ve read others reviews before posting mine, I bought two of them replacing some old 1080p gaming monitors from Acer. Just in time for the Next Gen consoles. First thing I tested before I even put these on my desk was dead pixels. Went to a website to see solid colors I was inches away from the screen I didn’t notice any dead or stuck pixels at all on neither one which is great because I would have made Amazon replace them. Yeah they’re 5ms, but if you’re like me you’re a great player in any video game regardless of all that response time mumbo jumbo, a 1ms monitor will not make you good if you’re not good to begin with. The colors are fantastic, I’m using them both calibrated with Nvidias control panel and using them with 10 bpc opposed to 8 bpc like they were stock. Colors really pop and bleed to you. As for the monitors themselves I’m using the regular color setting. I tired every color setting that comes preconfigured FPS & the 2 gaming settings look awful and oversharpenned, guess they made them like that for those blind people who shoot at the walls in FPS. Everything is extremely detailed & fine. I even tried it on my PS4 Pro, even though PS4 pro doesn’t really natively support any games in 4K it does a checkerboard antialiasing which is super noticeable with this monitor and it does make a difference. Can’t wait to see how PS5 is going to look natively running 4K on these. Yeah the panels are only 60 hz so for all you sweaty try hards who think it’s a killer feature not for me, I’ve owned Asus ROG 144hz monitors everything just moves smoother and it feels faster at times. If you want this effect just drink a bunch of coffee and you’ll feel the same way lol. Another thing I didn’t like much was how reflective the screens are, I’m not talking about you can see yourself like a mirror no, I’m talking about light wise. If there’s a light on or a TV behind you, you can definitely see some glare you can notice it a bit in the 2nd picture. My phone had trouble capturing the monitor screens properly because of the glare. As for light bleed yeah there’s some (there always is on IPS monitors) and at $240 & 4K you have no word to complain. Before these I bought the BenQ 4K EL28 1ms which are more expensive because of the sweaty 1ms marketing, colors were so awful. I just hate TN Panels yuck, if you’re so focused on response times & bland colors keep your nasty TN panels. VA & IPS are the way to go for an all round happy experience. Owned them for about a month, as far as I can tell I don’t think I’ll have issues for a while. All these negative reviews yeah you have to understand products are always a hit or miss for everyone. Some are not gonna be perfect at the assembly line some might have dead pixels or those pixel lines because the panel was damaged in transit or not properly installed. Don’t let these negative reviews draw you away from these monitors. You can always return them with Amazon’s policy if you don’t like them. But for $240 are you kidding me? They’re a steal. Yeah they don’t have HDR, but HDR on monitors are a joke. Let’s be realistic. If you wanted some real beautiful HDR you’d invest your money in a new LG or Samsung OLED/QLED tv which will set you back a grand or so. For gaming & media consumption these are fantastic. Sorry the review was so long but it just annoys me how every monitor on amazon has the same negative reviews “dead pixels/pixel lines” it happens to every brand. You’d have to be extremely ignorant to think it only happens to one brand. Replace it or return it problem solved. Your bad experience doesn’t justify the 90% of the people who actually enjoy it.
