This is not worth the money.
This is made very cheaply but most of all from my use does not reduce the temperature of my laptop. I ended up getting a Zalman pad type fan unit which does the job well.

Cute, but not functional
Current laptops have the vents at a 45 degree angle and this unit does not fit that opening very well. Good air flow if you can keep it on the unit, almost impossible to do so.

Lots of cooling air but did not solve the CPU cooling porblem
Works well sucking lots of cool air, but does not completely seal around the vent so it is difficult to tell how much of the air bypasses the CPU area. The internal fan had failed on an Acer Travelmate 1441. Ran real hot then almost stopped working, not even booting properly. The laptop still does not work properly, now works a little, very slowly, but better than without it. Do not know yet whether the CPU was permanently damaged or whether this alternative cooling source is not cooling the CPU enough to allow it to work properly. More diagnostics necessary. Will mask off the exposed vent area and try again. It is possible the old fan may be jammed, blocking some of the air flow. I am trying to put off replacing the internal fan as that is a major repair requiring removal of lots of the components. A good manufacturer would provide direct access for fan replacement, as they do for memory and hard drive. Most laptop fan replacements are difficult and require lots labor.Update. Used duct tape to mask off unenclosed vent areas and performance improved further, but still very slow. Internal fan probably jammed but CPU probably works. Should be a great way to add extra cooling for an overheating laptop where the internal fan still works. Will update when internal fan is replaced.

Waste of Money
I bought it because it was inexpensive but had some hope that it might help cool my laptop down, does not fit in the slot at all, and is useless.

Reliable, fits well - low airflow
I would have given it 5 stars if the airflow was a bit better. It doesn't pull enough air to cool my nettop (Acer Revo) which has a defective fan. Otherwise, the fit is good (I had to modify one of the vent holes in my PC to fit correctly). It is a solid performer, and it is quiet. I just wish the CFM rating was a bit higher.

does not lock on
it will not lock on as advertised..with a little ingenuity ,and a roll of black elec. tape. it works rather well.(need to place tape roll flat under device to keep it level)
