Review Praise for Kit Laybourne's previous book, The Animation Book: "I read one chapter and then went and made a little film with my seven-year-old son. When he finally saw the thing moving and come to life, he giggled for a solid half hour. I love this book." --Peter Hastings, writer/producer of Animaniacs and Pinky and the Brain and creator of Disney's One Saturday Morning. "This is a great book! Inspiration+technique+practice=Success
At the moment the two people in our house are fighting for face time with this book. I got the first look-see, and loved it because in combines clear explanations of what were mysterious concepts to me, like layers and filters, with clear explanation of design principles with projects that stress the importance in any art of practice. Now techie hubbie is glued to it, going page by page. So I'll go play with mediapedia.com!

Book for beginners
I may have misread the description of this book, but I assumed it was an inspirational book for professional designers/photographers. I found it far too simplified with very little new information for me personally. It is probably great for beginning Photoshop and digital camera users.

Easy to read book to help every person in front of a keyboard up the ante on all their digital image creation
For full disclosure, I was a student of Kit's in grad school and have gotten in the habit of gifting his quite wonderful animation book to co-workers who are beginning to work in the field of digital media.Kit has a flair for making even the most complex visual theories feel basic and has a deep rooted desire to share digital image making tools with everyone in his radius - thanks to the internet, it's a pretty big radius.Mediapedia is an easy to read, workbook style book designed to help everyone use their available computer & digital tools in the creation & enhancement of media. Success is in the details and Mediapedia will help you master the techniques to perfect the details in both your personal and professional media creation.
