Shoyeido's River Path Incense, 80 Sticks - Hori-kawa

I'm in enough niche hobbyist communities (including incense) where I know this isn't the "best you can get". I've had a few that people consider better, and well, comparatively I feel kind of meh about them. I'm not really acclimated to ouds or agarwood, so I don't really feel like I'm missing out on something ultra special that costs like a grand. This dude I find to just be the perfect daily driver. Great price, perfectly sized sticks for virtually any room (I like to burn them in my bedroom, not overwhelming). For years I used to smell this in a few places I'd shop, not realizing what it was. The first time I smelled it it testing it at home was super nostalgic, that and I love it so much to the point I think I'd just be happy with these and some deodorizing hinoki incense for the rest of my life.Burn time on these is like your usual like 15-20 minutes or so. They're small sticks but you get super reasonable mileage out of them. The scent lasts a good while, I find that one a day does me. Love just burning this guy, drinking some nice oolong tea, reading a book, just taking a moment where everything is nice. The fragrance profile is sandalwood, cinnamon and frankincense, and it's just super rich, woodsy, complex, no funk or chemical/artificial smells. My absolute favorite, I couldn't recommend an incense more. Absolutely stunning and affordable for daily use, and well worth the price offered here.

Once you indulge in the sensory delight that Sheyido offers, you'll find it difficult to settle for anything less. Trust me, your senses will be forever grateful for the experience!

These have such a warm, comforting scent. The smoke isn't as dense as cheaper brands and it doesn't leave a stale smell afterward- if anything, I'm a little disappointed when it fades. Doesn't bother my allergies unless I'm right on top of it. Very little ash to clean up.These are thin, short sticks that have a short burning time and I honestly like that about them. I can light one in my room and relax without having to get up to put it out midway.

I love this brand of incense for decades and just discovered this premium version and I am in 6th heaven. Never over powering and always inspiring to clam and peace. I run incense many times a day in my home, to keep purifying the energy.

I like to burn incense, but am super picky about what I will use. Unfortunately, that doesn't leave a lot of options. I found a shop in Huntington WV when I was in college that sold the coils of this incense individually back in the 90s and when they shut down, I forgot about it for years. One day, I thought of it and looked on Amazon, and there it is! I like the smaller sticks better so I can be frugal with my incense use. It's hella expensive, but so worth it because the scent is something I really love, so I just use it sparingly. It doesn't have a really heavy smell, and doesn't make the room smoky. It's just a nice, earthy, spicy scent that is so perfect, I didn't forget about it 20 years later.

Love this scent. It’s my go to. It’s soothing and not overpowering. Lasts a good amount of time.
