Chaney Instruments 17-Inches Galileo Thermometer

The Galileo Thermomiter is really nice decor piece, if you can find a safe spot for it in your home, where it’s not going to get knocked over, and very likely shatter and break. This is used to tell the temperature. The little balls that float inside the thermometer have colorful fluid, and from them hang little discs with the temperature number. The ball floating on top is the closest to the current temperature. This is obviously not 100% accurate every time. I don’t see most people using the Galileo as the first resource for temperature reading, but it is a nice decor piece.

The thermometer is great. My dad said he had always wanted one and when he opened it, it was one of his favorite gifts this year. The item came intact with proper packaging and is easily readable. It does seem a bit fragile, so I wouldn't recommend it being placed low to the ground where it can get knocked over. It's pretty accurate too; our house doesn't fall below 64 degrees and it has always been spot on. Great as a gift and a great conversation starter. Every time someone comes over, they always ask about it!

I've wanted one of these for many years, and saw Amazon had them for sale at reasonable prices. I will admit I was worried about them shipping a glass/liquid container across the country and getting it in one piece. Turns out the nerves were unfounded as it is a pretty sturdy piece of glass, and doesn't feel thin or cheap. Nice looking thermometer, and for a respectable price. I couldn't be happier with my purchase.

This thermometer is something my husband LOVES! The first one we received was broken, but that's the problem with shipping something made entirely of glass across the country. However, when I contacted the company, they shipped a replacement out super quick. It arrived in perfect condition,and the Father's Day gift was a success! I was extremely impressed with this company and will be happy to do business with them again.

I ordered 2 of these and 1 arrived broken. I exchanged it and received another broken one, so I ended up just returning it and keeping 1 of them.The one that arrived undamaged works great though!

If you like interesting objects, this is for you. Not a necessity, but makes a good gift. Would not purchase another one.

Very nice, especially for the price. Be careful of packing if you are shipping it else where (after you receive it), breaks easily.
