Compatible with 5 gallon vac
It's a DeWalt 2.5 inch vac hose, not too much to say about that. Wish it were a little longer but it's otherwise long enough for most situations. You can't connect 2 of these hoses together, so DeWalt, if you're listening, please make a hose-to-hose connector. It connects directly with the little 5 gallon stealth-sense vac despite not officially supported in the documentation, and I love the yellow color. It functions quite well, not a lot to go wrong with a vac hose aside from physically breaking. The larger hose actually made the stealth-vac a bit quieter, no turbulent noise at that nozzle like with the smaller hose, and the motor isn't having to work quite as hard due to being less restrictive. Amazon also wants me to tell you that it's nice and flexible, but not as flexible as the narrower hose, but that's to be expected, and it installed easily.

Rigid yet flexible and easy to snap into my shopvac
Crushed my last hose and needed a replacement to go along with the Dewalt shopvac I bought from Costco a few years back. The hose quality is rigid and it's easy to snap into the vac and functions as designed. I'm sure you can probably go for a cheaper no-name brand but this one works well and I enjoy it.

Better than the vac came with.
Much nicer than the stock included hose. Won’t kink. Sturdy!

It is a replacement hose, NOT an extension hose.
Without doing any real research first, I bought this hose thinking it would simply extend the length of my current (and identical) Dewalt hose that came with my newest shop vac. That being Dewalt's low-noise 16 gallon plug-in model with the ridiculously short 7 foot super heavy duty yellow hose. Yellow and Black is a friend of Jack! When I opened the box for my new hose, I found that this is a replacement hose, not an extension that would give me 14 feet in total. And it does not come with an adapter to directly attach it to my other hose. To make it worse, the hose's male end to which various tool heads are attached, was found detached from the hose despite the heavy amounts of glue residue on it. So, now I need to find a coupler to join the two hoses together. Given the price, it should have come with a coupler to join hoses together and the hose should not have arrived on my doorstep with the glued on male coupler detached. And, what is the deal with the short 7 foot hoses in the first place? Seriously! The hose itself is made of very heavy and thick "plastic". It is a very HIGH quality material and is very slick. Slick equals fewer clogs. The hose is rather stiff. That equals to greatly reduced chances it will collapse in on itself during high suction periods (lifting water) and will be very unlikely to kink. At only 7 feet, kinks are unlikely anyway. The coupler style that attaches the hose to the vacuum's body is a pretty common, super light weight, clip design. Similar designs on other shop vacs I have owned over the years have all broken off early in their service life. Every one of them. However, I do have a small utility Vacmaster "shop" vac that has a screw on hose design. I can lift that little vac onto the roof of the house by its hose if I chose to (if). Bottom line, truly, truly great hose material. Too short. Arrived with a detached coupler. No hose to hose coupler. Tiny clip design to attach hose to vac is too weak (most are guilty of this). I would be happy with the price if it came with a hose to hose coupler.

Love the flexibility
I bought this not realizing how flexible it was compared to the hose it came with. For my application I use the vac close to me in some very tight spaces and this hose is amazing. Think vacuuming out an appliance with lots of small spaces and crevices. Now if you are vacuuming further away this hose does not stretch to far and will pull the vac over. I use mine on gas fireplaces to vac dust dirt rocks soot. I use the canister filter and a bag. I can actually stick the hose in a small space and turn it completely around to get every crack crevices and dust can't hide.

Excellent replacement hose! Heavy duty!
Purchased to replace my damaged vacuum hose. Very durable, easy to maneuver while cleaning shop. The hose is very flexible and perfect fit to my vac. Impressed with the heavy duty construction and functionality.

Add length to the DeWalt hose.
Purchase an extra DeWalt hose to gain more range of coverage. Using a heat-gun, carefully warm the swivel end of the new hose that would normally latch into the DeWalt canister. Once it becomes a little softer, force the implement end of the original hose into the warmed swivel. Surprisingly, it snapped together when the butt of the implement end plunged deep enough to meet the ID of the swivel joint. They are almost exactly the same diameter and butted right into each other, thus minimizing the impact on air flow. I still placed one round of thigh quality tape over the connection. Both swivels still work, so the hose rotates at the canister and the home-made joint. Doubling hose length of course compromises airflow a few percent, but it still picks up screws and nails just fine, and now I can vacuum more than 3 feet w/o the canister chasing me around.

Gives you that extra reach.
Works as advertised just wish it was a few feet longer.
