DID NOT FOLLOW BOOK!
I had high hopes for this movie after reading the book w/my son for his class. It was disappointing that so many facts were changed in the movie. It was entertaining, but not like the book.

The Movie "Tuck Everlasting"
I know this movie is quite good, cause I saw it on TV a couple of years ago. I Truly enjoyed this movie Very much, so when I saw it for sale on amazon, I jumped at the chance to get it. It came quickly and it seemed to be in good condition, it was supposed to be new. But, I did not see any seals under the shrink wrap, so that made me a little suspicious. When I took it out of its package it looked just fine, except for the seal under the shrink wrap, so I put it in my DVD player to watch it. But, when it came on it said "In large letters, "CANNOT PLAY", I was very upset, to say the least! So, I took it out and went into my bedroom, and put it in my DVD player in there, and it did the very same thing. So, I had to get it packaged again and will mail it on Monday! I can only hope they (Movie Mars) will Replace it and send it back ASAP. This incident makes me leery of getting anything through the mail ever again. Sincerely LaVerne Conerly

Tuck Everlasting
After she runs away from home, fifteen-year-old Winnie stumbles upon a family called the Tucks who are keeping her captive until she is willing to keep their secret, the fact that they are immortal. Winnie develops feelings for this unusual family and feels like she belongs with them. A magical relationship develops between Winnie and the youngest Tuck - Jesse - who she has a wonderful summer with, where she learns about being free and having no responsibilities. When a strange man in a yellow suit comes to town he aids in the investigation as to what happened to Winnie, however more for his own gain. He wants to seek out the Tucks and find out how to become immortal too, along with exposing their secret and making the secret of how to be immortal available to the public.Tuck Everlasting combines my two favourite things in a movie: the first being stories about immortals (or vampires) and the second old timey films, this one being set in the early 1900s.There are not many films that I could describe as perfect, but this is one of them. There is nothing that could make this film better. The setting, the characters, the script - everything. The story is very relatable, not just for children but for adults too, and it deals with the difficult issue of death. This is a movie defiantly worth watching, even though it is aimed at children, I still really enjoyed it.I didn't realise it was a book until after I had bought it and I plan on buying it as soon as possible.

great story, great movie
I've read the book at least a dozen times and watched the movie even more often. Walt Disney Pictures did a great job transforming this beautiful book into an equally beautiful movie. The cast - Alexis Bledel, William Hurt, Sissy Spacek, Scott Bairstow, Jonathan Jackson, Ben Kingsley, Amy Irving, Victor Garber, Elisabeth Shue (Narrator)- is amazing and the soundtrack/score by William Ross my favorite of all times. It's the story of Winnie Foster (11yo in the book, 15 I think in the movie) meeting the Tuck family (blessed or doomed with immortality), learning about life and it's value and the choice she has to make between becoming immortal herself or living a "normal" life."Don't be afraid of death Winnie, be afraid of the unlived life. You don't have to live forever, you just have to live."

Poignant Drama
Tuck Everlasting, adapted from the book by Natalie Babbitt, tells the tale of Winnie (Alexis Bledel), a girl growing up at the start of the first World War. Rebelling from the strict constrictions imposed by her parents she runs away into the nearby woods where she discovers a family living hidden there and falls in love with their youngest son (Jonathan Jackson). However all is not as it seems as she discovers their secret and their world comes tubling down as a stranger (Ben Kingsly) intent on exploting their secret also finds them.It is a beatifully told and poignant drama about life and living it to the full. Very much worth watching.

Good film for young girls
I bought this film as I was suffering from Gilmore Girls withdrawl. Alexis Bledel plays a young girl trapped by her over-protective parents, a dreamer, who yearns for freedom beyond the grounds of the family homestead. Its a magical story geared towards girls in the 8-13 year old bracket. Touching ending that will get a debate going.

Fairly good, but the book just beats it
I liked the film, but the book is just better. The actors are great, particularly Mae Tuck and Jesse Tuck, who were my favourite characters. The scenery in the film looks great on a HD tv and this film would probably be stunning in blu ray. Great story, but the book pips it to the post.
