Take your time and you’ll get beautiful results!
I wanted to create my own custom Sailor Moon themed switch so when I found this pastel pink kit I was so happy(stickers were purchased by me on Etsy). I’m super impressed with the quality and the finished look. I also purchased the white button kit from them. My experience with installation was very good. I had no issues whatsoever. So with that in mind here are a few tips:1. Use your own tools. Yes, the kit comes with the screwdrivers you will need. But they’re not very good. You can get a set of small screwdrivers, as well as the special Nintendo screwdriver right here on amazon. You will need the “switch screwdriver” as well as a ph000 screwdriver. I cannot stress this enough. Using the ones that come with the kit will very easily strip the screws as you’re trying to get them out.1a. While on the topic of screws, pay attention to the screws you’re are removing and make sure you’re using the correct screwdriver. Some are “y” shaped. These will require the special Nintendo screwdriver.2. TAKE YOUR TIME. This is not a quick project. If you’re in a rush to get it done, you will make mistakes and possibly damage something. This requires a patient and delicate hand. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN THE JOYCON SCREWS as you’re putting it back together. This could not only damage the delicate parts inside but also mess with button function.2a. If you do strip a screw the tiniest bit, but you manage to get it out DO NOT reuse that screw. Replace it with one of the screws from the kit.3. FOLLOW THEIR VIDEO. The video is very detailed and well done. My suggestion here is to change the playback speed of the video to .5x. At original speed it’s a bit too fast to follow. I paused after each step to make sure I was doing it correctly. If possible watch the video before you even begin just to get a feel for the whole process, then begin your installation.4. Pay attention to the screws as you are removing them. There are many different lengths used. I used little paper cups to put the screws in as I removed them step by step. So I had several little cups to keep the screws I removed sorted.5. Some screws might give you a little bit of a fight. BE PATIENT WITH THESE. Nintendo doesn’t want you getting up in there so some of the screws have what looks like a tiny bit of tread glue. So you’ll have to “break the seal”. Again, be patient and careful. The last thing you want is a stripped screw as you’re trying to remove parts. This is where having proper screwdrivers will come into play.5a. This also goes for some of the internal parts of the JOYCON that will need to be removed. For example, the little vibration element is taped down, as well as the battery. It’s not hard to remove them at all. Just be aware that they are taped down.6. Get a good pair of tweezers! This was insanely helpful. Not only in disconnecting the ribbon cables, but also in getting out and putting some of the smaller buttons back in.This last one is about the casing itself. Because of the satin/matte finish the casing could very easily get dirty or scuffed. I opted to purchase a clear protective shell to ensure neither of those things happen. I also knew I’d be adding stickers so I wanted to keep those clean and safe as well. Personally, I like the look of the clear protective shell.**EDIT** MAKE SURE TO READ THE DESCRIPTION ON THEIR INSTALL VIDEO. THEY MADE A SMALL MISTAKE IN THE VIDEO WITH THE ZR BUTTON RIBBON AND THEY CLARIFIED THIS IN THE DESCRIPTION OF THE VIDEO**I think that is about it. I’m very happy with my purchase and the final result.

Beautiful and worth the effort.
Excellent shell for my Switch. Color is accurate to description (Sakura Pink) and the soft touch finish feels very nice!I used my own tool set as I found some of the screws a bit difficult to turn with the included ones.Installation was a little time consuming, but easy enough to follow their YouTube video. I also recommend an addition of tweezers if you’re only going to use their included tools, as it’s helpful for inserting the ribbon cables back in within the JoyCons.Overall I’m extremely happy with the color and look of my Switch now.P.S.This would void any remaining warranty you might have on your Nintendo Switch - I’ve had mine longer than a year and it didn’t matter for me.

Excellent Quality So Far!
Pros:+ Had no issues installing this kit. The provided tools got the job done.+ The surface finish feels soft to the touch. No glaring imperfections.+ Came with extra replacement Philip head screws and buttons.+ The replacement Joy-Con parts (including the buttons) are molded exactly like Nintendo's, so it fits perfectly.Cons:- Provided tools are quite small. Can be bit of hassle to use.Neutral:• Hopefully they'll release more color options. Pretty limiting at the time of this review. (Not that I'm complaining about the red set).• The right Joy-Con replacement buttons are not double-injected molded, so no white letters. I think this was intentional for aesthetic reasons or manufacturing costs.• Can be challenging to replace for the inexperienced.Other notes:• $40 can be quite expensive to some, but what you're getting in the box is definitely worth it.• The reviews in this product page contain reviews from a previous product. It's sorta tampering with the overall review score.(I'll update this review if any issues come up. Other than that, excellent shell so far! It's definitely superior than Basstop's in terms of quality!)

Do NOT use the original nintendo screws when putting this back together.
Amazing stuff. The fit and finish is on a whole other ballpark vs the original shell. Paired with a pair of skull thumb grips and my WHITE switch looks and feels soooo good. Some notes if you're planning on doing this yourself:- The old screws are very fragile and the plastic mold isn't pre-threaded, so you'll likely strip the screws when putting them back in. Use the screws included with the kit, they are better than the original.- Be prepared to buy another set if you screw up. I had the previously mentioned problem and had to pry open the shell and break it by force. Had to order another joycon shell to fix it. Nothing from the internal components broke thankfully.- You don't need to disconnect the ribbon cables. As long as you're careful and gentle you can do the entire thing just by unscrewing everything apart and putting it back together. I don't recommend changing the middle piece as the trigger pcb seems to be glued onto it.- The black gasket around the analog stick isn't necessary for it to function properly. Mine wasn't gluing back in and I just went without. It's probably there just to improve water & dust resistance. If you're getting this shell, you're probably too OCD to let that happen anyways.- There's a handy menu in the options to test all buttons to check that everything works. I found out one of my triggers wasn't plugged in properly that way.- If you are disconnecting the ribbon cables, look up a video on how to properly do so. It's kind of like a little mouse trap.

Just don’t buy this
The screws are cheap the tools are cheap. Every screw got stripped my original casing is damaged beyond repair and to get anything off I will literally have to break it off because the screws are so damaged. What a nightmare at this point it’d be easier to buy a new switch with all of the damage this kit caused

The most powerful plastic known to man
I bought this as a base to paint for my girlfriends switch as she wanted cute colours for her controllers and backplate. Basically I had to sell my soul, do several complicated rituals and spells, sacrifice the soul of a baby goat and pilgrimage to the top of a mountain to be blessed by a monk before I could get the paint to take. The material would self heal, and reject the paint. So any sanding, any paint type- the blood of the lord himself was rejected by the plastic. So if you’re worried that the “white will get dirty over time”, don’t. This plastic alone has the power of the awakened master sword- it just keeps coming back.Comes with all the screws and a screwdriver too, cute packaging so I can gift wrap it. 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻

The shell is good quality but do not use the supplied tools under any circumstance
I read ahead of receiving the shell about how bad the tools were but didn't think they would be that bad. Do not ignore the warnings.I attempted the backplate first with the supplied phillips and the screw on the side instantly stripped off; then spent about half an hour trying to get this screw out using the old techniques (Rubber band trick and using superglue). But the screw head is just too fine to recover and it's pretty much never coming out unless it's drilled. So the backplate is pretty much on there for good now. After this I got my hands on some proper precision tools: A 1.5mm phillips and a 1.5mm tri wing screwdriver. I then did the joy cons following the instructions on the video and had no problems at all. So now I have a default (And now permanent) backplate and modified joy cons now which luckily still look good since they fit the theme of yellow and black still and am happy with the result. It's a neat idea to have all the items you need come in one package but the execution is really bad and could cause someone to do irreversible damage to their console like I have.

Looks great! But take your time!
Seen a lot of reviews saying the tools are bad, so I went and bought some from ifixit along with some replacement parts. But the screwdriver that came in box was fine enough. If you don’t want to damage the screw heads on your console, or when installing the new screws provided (which are also a fine quality and I recommend using), you have to be super careful and tease them out slowly. If I can, I always replace tri-wing screws, because if you bore them down you’ll never get them out again. I also like the accessibility of phillips head screws in case I want to mod the console again in the future. The shell itself looks great! The plastic feels on par with Nintendo’s and when finished it looks and feels like the real thing. The buttons feel cheaper compared to those already on the joycons so I didn’t use them. Also there are some minor size issues (given the tolerances in such a small console this doesn’t surprise me). All the screws matched up fine but there some edges that don’t meet up exactly. This is noticeable on the backplate as it joins directly to the console. Please make sure you do your research and take your time, this cannot be rushed. But the end result is near perfect (unless you really nit-pick).

Don’t recommend unless you know what you’re doing and have the right tools
Unless you’re highly experienced with very small, fiddly electronics and have top quality tools, I wouldn’t recommend this. For one, it doesn’t come with instructions of any kind, instead you have to search for a poorly constructed tutorial video on YouTube that’s sped up and doesn’t zoom in on any details or indicate what the person is actually doing. Secondly, the screwdriver they include looks fairly good, as if it can do the job but looks are deceiving. The screwdriver stripped the first screw in my switch with hardly any effort at all. I did however manage to unscrew the screws in one of the joycons with no problems until I changed the shell and screwed it back up, and it stripped another screw so I was unable to fully tighten up the joycon. Now I can’t even take the stripped screw out to replace it so I have a loose, partially open joycon. As for customer service, it’s non existent. I emailed them directly via their website and weeks later I still have no response.

Looks AMAZING!!
After looking for cases for my Switch to customise the colour I came across these shells which I thought looked so much better than a bulky clip on case. After doing some digging and watching YouTube videos I thought I would give it a go to swap over my whole Switch body and change the buttons in the process. As a complete beginner in doing anything like this it took me a total of 6 hours and I’m sooo so pleased with how it turned out!!I purchased the whole shell set in Cherry Blossom Pink with the front shell separately along with white buttons from ExtremeRate and then white joycon sticks from Jeylly. The material is soo super soft I can’t believe how great the quality is, it’s definitely worth the price I think as it looks and feels like a professional finish. I would highly recommend these products to anyone thinking of changing over their Switch Shell and it was easy enough to do so too!Only advise is to purchase a better quality screwdriver set as the ones that come aren’t great and you have a higher chance of stripping the screws which you DO NOT want to do!!Over the moon with my purchase and can’t wait to show off my new switch to my sisters who I’m sure will want me to do theirs now!
