Welcome to Kehoe, it’s -10 degrees and counting at this glitzy ski resort in the Rocky Mountains. The local police aren’t used to much action until the son of unassuming town snowplough driver, Nels Coxman (Liam Neeson), is murdered at the order of Viking (Tom Bateman), a flamboyant drug lord. Fueled by rage and armed with heavy machinery, Nels sets out to dismantle the cartel one man at a time, but his understanding of murder comes mainly from what he read in a crime novel. As the bodies pile up, his actions ignite a turf war between Viking and his long-standing rival White Bull (Tom Jackson), a soulful Native-American mafia boss, that will quickly escalate and turn the small town’s bright white slopes blood-red. Review: Cold pursuit dvd - Good quality and service Review: Entertaining remake - This black comedy remake of the 2014 Norwegian film "In Order of Disappearance", by the same director, Hans Petter Moland, follows a vengeful snowplough driver played by Liam Neeson, who starts killing the members of a drug cartel following the murder of his son. The movie is very much in the Tarantino mold, and it's all the better for it. As Nesson's path of revenge escalates, so too does the violence and the deaths. The dry and dark humour Nesson delivers is excellent. It has "Fargo" vibes throughout. The cinematography captures the desolate, wintry location. The plot is formulaic in places; however, Nesson's portrayal as the vengeful Father lifts it above the norm. Recommended if you're looking for a thriller that's a bit different.

A good film that does not take itself seriously!
I started to watch this late one evening on TV but I was so tired I went to bed, but impressed by what I saw in the first section, I bought this Blu Ray version as you get assorted extras on it. This a ‘black comedy’ film in all but name, played tongue firmly in cheek basically but with a good lot of blood letting but the credits say it all as it lists the supporting actors - those who got ‘bumped off’ thus - I quote: ‘In order of disappearance’ ‘written’ in snow style and it slowly blows away (geddit?!) as we all laughed out loud at seeing that. Brilliant film and would watch it again anytime, can’t say fairer than that! 5 Stars easy :)

IT'S AN EYE FOR AN EYE
When the film was being released, during a promotional speech Liam Neeson made a controversial statement stating that years ago he, after someone close to him had been raped by a black man, he walked the streets for a week with a weapon with the intent of taking his anger out on one (was this purely a statement to create a situation that would have the film widely talked about and indeed watched or was it a truthful reflection on the past that as he now says, he was not proud of?) The film - A black-comedy very much in Tarantino-style.... Kehoe a rocky-mountains ski-resort in Colorado is a quiet town where little happens of any consequence - until - Snowplough Driver Nels Coxman's (Liam Neeson) son is killed having been given a drug overdose. Nel's life begins to fall apart, however just when considering taking his own life he learns that his son was murdered by a Denver Drug Cartel. Nel, though having little or no knowledge of killing sets about working his way to the top of the cartel, one at a time, though in truth it is obviously beyond him to do so. However, as the body count mounts, it seems to the cartel boss that White Bull a rival drug-lord is starting a war against him...which will lead to eye for eye killings. Will the humble Snowplough worker get the justice he seeks or will events overwhelm him? There certainly is many a killing in this action-packed Liam Neeson movie, a long way from his best but certainly worthy of viewing if but caught on a movie channel.

While this item arrived within a reasonable time, being shipped from England to Ontario, I cannot offer a review in that the DVD would not play on any of the machines into which I placed it. My conclusion -- it is not a "Region 2" product -- unfortunate in that, obviously I guess, it was a small film about which I was curious.
