Stargate Atlantis: The Complete Series [Blu-ray]

Arrived quick and in great condition. I love this show so I'm super excited to watch the special features!

I bought this for my husband for Christmas thinking it was what he wanted. Last night he tried to play it and it said won't play on Region2 but will play on Region 1. Well I learned my lesson it came from Germany. Watch what you buy and where it comes from. Not recommended

The quality is typical of blu-ray. I received the product promptly and am enjoying watching the series again.

Great Science Fiction Series that should’ve lasted longer than it did. If you love Science Fiction, then this should be in your collection.

When I purchased the original SG-1 series I thought I would not be able to watch this spin off but I caught myself taken by it. Even if it is happening in parallel with the time line of some of the SG-1 stories and even some of the characters of the original series appear in Atlantis it has completely unique story. It is placed in galaxy far far away and this means some of the new rules, races and also enemies. If you enjoyed SG SG-1 I would recommend to watch Atlantis as well. It has the spirit of the Original series and the chemistry between characters is also good.You will be able to uncover some of the secrets of the Ancients which was not told in original series.

At the time this was being shown on Sky, I used to criticize Atlantis a lot. Now, I really appreciate the effort and storylines. If you like gazing at handsome men, this is perfect. Jason Momoa....Joe Flanagan, oh my. It’s funny and even the awful Rodney McKay is bearable, once you see the outtakes and how much energy David Hewlett put into being obnoxious. I don’t ‘sledge’ it.Amanda Tapping joined in season 4 and she was great, she looked gorgeous and her acting was really good. There are outtakes! Just for once. It was great to see people making errors, but it also shows the excellent quality of the cast.

To me this is far most the best Stargate series, (actually I wasn't that keen on SG-1) Stargate Atlantis simply outshines the others. Not many sub-par episodes in here. Well written guys!I found this a captivating series and stayed up all night several times watching episode after episode. Several themes running through episodes and series. Just the right amount of Irony and humour. A lot of fast paced action and adventure, plenty of characters to love and hate, enough stuff to keep you thinking and several well thought surprises.A stargate team led by Elizabeth Weir (Torri Higginson) stumble onto a massive ancient human interstellar space ship and begin to have adventures from there on.My favourite character is Dr Rodney McKay, superbly played by David Hewlett (I think no one else could play the part as competently), A highly intelligent and selfish person, who is scared of his own shadow, with no interpersonal skills, is head of the science team and often somehow manages to pull the expedition out of trouble whilst under plenty of stress, however he needs to be helped out of trouble just as much. Without this character SG-A would not be as good. Don't get me wrong there are a lot of strong intertwined characters in here that make this series great.SF fans and action seeking fans alike will love this. Definitely best on Blu-Ray9.5 out of 10 - would make a nice present.

I already have the bluray set, but bought this as an Xmas present for someone.I started wrapping stuff this weekend and, unusually for me, I thought I'd check the disks up front before sending it. Just as well. Disk 3 season 3 has a big deep scratch on it. It looks like a manufacturing fault as its a very 'clean' regular deep curved scratch about an 2cm long paralleling the disk circumference about 1cm in from the edge. Didn't see any other scratches on the other disks but tried to play disk 4 and 5 from season 3 just in case ........ and the disc player clicked, clattered and whirred noisily for several minutes before starting to play and eventually bringing up the menu - so there may be more than just visible scratches wrong with this set.Its faulty, so its a return - and the nature of the fault leaves me suspicious of 'this batch of DVDs'.The set itself consists of 5 large thin plastic DVD cases wrapped in a thin card sleeve. 5 disks per case. The box, case, disk illustrations are good. And it is, of course, a great scifi series. BUT if you bought it as a present for someone best check before giving.

Season 5 doesn't play at all. The deadline for return had expired before I got around to watching it as the first 4 seasons worked fine. I have tried all the disks and none of them play. I have also updated the software on my player & tried again but it still doesn't play. What a con!!!
