The recipe and packaging of these German 'Panzerplatten' Crackers provide resistance to environmental influences such as humidity, heat, and cold. Ingredients: Soft wheat flour, sugar, partially hydrogenated sunflower fat, glucose, salt, raising agents: (sodium bicarbonate, ammonium bicarbonate, sodium metabisulfite). These are actually great. Especially with coffee.
With every long term ration purchase, I like to try it before I buy a truckload and put them on the shelf. Truthfully, I was expecting cardboard with a hint of medium density fiberboard. What I tasted with a ever so slightly stale dense cracker that had a hint of sweetness. The texture landed somewhere in between a hard Teddy graham and a dense DiGiorno pizza dough (I know, random but its the closest parallel I could get to. Even made one to verify!).I broke the package open and was happy to see that the main large foil package had 4 sub packages inside it so it was easy to try one and save the other 3.Gave one to my wife, parents and dog and made them all try it. I only told them "Survival cracker" and after breaking into it they ALL had a surprised look and all said the same thing "Thats not bad!". I also tried dipping mine in my coffee and it softened it up considerably and was no problem to chomp through. My dog though - my dog was the most surprising of all. He is a 12 year old Corgi who has been spoiled his whole life and has turned into quite the picky treat eater in his old age. He will READILY refuse the basic Milk Bone biscuit and opts for things on the sweet spectrum. I gave him a chunk (they are easy enough to put in the palm of your hand, push in the middle of the cracker and get 4 equal sized pieces out of one) and he sniffed it. Gently took it. Put it down, nibbled and then grabbed the whole thing and wanted more. THAT was the biggest surprise: he absolutely LOVES them. So I drank some coffee and we ate biscuits for breakfast the next morning and I honestly enjoyed it.In a pinch, these would be easy to eat. You dont have to force them down like other calorie bars and they arent so hard that you'll break out fillings and crowns. If you dont like hard, then dip them in some milk, coffee or hot chocolate and they will soften right up and make it right easy to eat.Mine arrived with 3 years of shelf life from the day of receipt in early October 2024, which was perfect for my purposes and would easily keep for longer in a vacuum sealed bag.Buy with confidence knowing that they aren't like eating bark or MDF and are actually pretty OK plain and border on good with a cup of coffee.

They're good and filling! Add peanut butter or Nutella for better flavor.
Well, these were not as fresh nor were they vacuum sealed like the "Survivor" brand NATO biscuits, however, they were still fine to eat. They took a long time to arrive, but given the distance from which they came, I'll let that one slide. The expiration dates were a bit closer than I would have liked. In all, though, they were very good and filling. I highly recommend peanut butter on them. They make them just that much better! I imagine Nutella would be awesome too. These are VERY filling and great for survival rations or if your low on food and need lunch for work! YES! I recommend the product, but wish they'd get the vacuum sealed ones. These are good, but THOSE tasted like they were fresh from the factory!

They're sweet
They're sweet. I expected them to be salty, but that's my fault for not knowing. For a high calorie cookie, I'd just go with plain and normal tea crackers, they taste almost the same

Best MRE cracker
Compared to US mre crackers, these are just a little bit sweeter, consistency more like animal crackers. I was skeptical of the foil packaging but there was minimal breakage. The price point is high but these are really good. I’ll be ordering more.

Sehr gut!
The Germans know how to make a cracker! They are thick, but not teeth breaking hard. They have a pleasant smell and taste, hints of hazelnut maybe? Plenty of crackers to a pack and the price is pretty good. They make good companions to your morning hot beverage.

Shipped in a plastic bag now cushion, received just crumbled, broken and powder mess
This product is incredible, tastes great but Amazon logistics decided to ship an order of 4 in a loose plastic bag w no cushioning. The result is just 4 bags of crumbles and dust. Useless.Who ships crackers in a non cushioned plastic bag? Amazon needs to look at implementing either IQ tests or drug testing in their shipping department.
