Incredible knife! Sits perfectly in the pocket, and I don't even think about it until I need it. It's not too heavy or bulky. This thing stays sharp too. I recommend it

High Quality product
I have been a knife guy all my life. This blade is well-made. It is very sharp and opens very easily with a flick. Of course, be careful of moisture, but that goes with a great blade that holds an edge. It is not a small knife or thin. But it depends on what you want the knife for; it fits my goals in getting it. If you just want a knife to open your mail and cut a little string, it's not your best choice. But if I were back in the military, it would serve that type of environment well.

AWESOME KNIFE
I’m gonna start out and say that i like to collect knives. i have knives ranging from $10 to $200. I knew that this was definitely gonna be one of my expensive knives and this was my first time buying benchmade. when it came in i was surprised by how light in weight it was. it has a great balance and an insane edge. this knife is definitely my favorite knife. i’m a little disappointed with the handle but that’s only because i’m not a fan of plastic handles. it is nice how it has so many grips on the handle but i’m just not a fan of plastic. not to mention it just feels cheap and it wasn’t. but there are ways around it. i also ordered a new handle, a different pocket clip for deep carry, and i may buy thumb studs. they haven’t come in yet but i do like all of the personalizations i can make to this knife. the blade is what makes the knife tho. i love the nice rugged/girthy look this knife has. it just looks like something i can use everyday. it feels awesome in my hand and i feel awesome carrying it. i have been looking for a knife that suits me and is “my go-to knife”. the edge is so perfect it cuts through paper with ease. I really like the lock on this knife. i’ve never seen anything like it before and i find it interesting how this is the only knife brand i’ve heard of that uses this lock mechanism. This is definitely my favorite knife that i have bought. the only major downside i have is the handle and i dont like the fact i had to spend about $50 more on personalizations that wont even get here for another month. boohoo on amazon. but other than that this knife is an absolute masterpiece and it’s definitely worth the price. I’ve been seeing a lot of people saying it’s crap or not good and that the safety doesn’t work but i had no problems with it. if you’re looking for a knife that can get dirty, beaten, thrown around, and survive through harsh environments then this is the knife FOR YOU.

My left pinkie can attest to its sharpness
So, I got this knife and decided to play that game where you put tap the knife tip between your fingertips for some reason. I'm not sure why you do this, but that's what I did. Anyway, when we got to my left pinkie finger, I accidentally stabbed it into the finger, cutting it clean in half. This turned out to be a great thing, as the doctors were able to make both of them functional. Now I have six fingers on my left hand and am first chair violin at the Washington Symphony. Thanks Benchmade!

It Finally Cut Me! :(
I love this knife. I carried this with me daily for last three & half years. I even love the plastic handle some complain about. I find it perfect.Problem: It can come open clipped inside the front pocket.I have the clip mounted opposite end of the axis-lock, on the side where butterfly logo is visible(left side?). My best guess is it has something to do with the combination of my (automobile)driving position + type of pants/shorts I wear & how + how I sit/walk. It's not exact science, but in 3 1/2 years of carrying this daily, it has come open inside my pocket 3, 4 times. Just two days ago, it finally got me. Just a scrape, but enough to bleed from two fingers. Just for this possibility, I can't give this otherwise 5-star knife(in my opinion) more than 3 stars.I'm going to start looking for a assisted-opening knives. I prefer another Benchmade, but I'll probably look at Kershaw & SOG in $80~$160 range. I'm looking for a knife similar to Griptillian in feature & quality, but one that stays locked inside a carry pocket. If anybody has any recommendation, I'm all ears. :)Edit: My new knife is the Benchmade HK Entourage. Not the greatest knife, but it's OK.Sort of disappointed with Benchmade customer service. I contacted them about the Griptilian knife coming open in my pocket & they responded to my email that it can be adjusted. I asked them if I could mail them my knife(they are open only when you are working), and if they charged for this service. They left me hanging. I live much closer to Kershaw anyway(both in/near Portland, Oregon), so I think I will finally give them a try for my next knife.Edit2: I transferred the clip to the other side, so when I have it in the front right pocket(normal carry pos. for me), if the blade try to come out, it will hit the back edge inside my pocket. It's really a no-brainer, but it was a discovery for someone with a modest I.Q. like myself. lol I've been carrying this old knife again, for months now, and it hasn't come open, so I think the problem of the knife coming open in front pocket has been resolved. My new knife HK Entourage is nice, but it's pretty much been retired since I figured the pocket clip position thing. I don't leave home without my Griptilian.

It's a well built solid knife.
Yes, I appreciate the quality. But they would have sharpened it before putting it in the shipping box. I have a new fixed angle sharpening system ordered. It will be my 1st project.

What else can I say, its a Benchmade
I've owned several Benchmade knives over the years and the only issue I have with them is I lose them to my sons or they get stolen. The blades are tough and retain their edge after repeated use. I purchased a griptillian in 2006 on my way to Iraq, used it for 15 months to pry open and cut just about everything. These knives are tougher than hell and worth the money
