The Shazam! Family
DC Comics Extended Film Universe continues to do a phenomenal job as it brings forward its seventh epic film in Shazam! All this as Mattel does its part in releasing a basic set of action figures.I got to say right off the bat that I usually don’t purchase these action figures, preferring the more detailed DC Comics Multiverse lineup. But sadly, there are only two figures in that lineup and quite frankly a movie as good as Shazam deserves better than just two figures. Though I can probably guess why it was done. Because other than Shazam, the rest of the figures are a massive spoiler. But what are you going to do when you have a teenager superhero brings forth his family to save the day? You got to make them into toys.Mattel brings forward an entire lineup of heroes together for its young buyers and a few adult buyers with a specialty, each figure contains an elastic version of the Seven Deadly Sins from the movie as an accessory. Sadly, there is no seventh action figure only six, my guess is Mattel doesn’t want to release Lust for obvious reasons, even though like Billy says in the movie he expected to be way hotter. Meaning it’s not something a parent should have worried about. Not to mention the Sins are primary-colored instead of their actual look in the movie. Still, the feel of these accessories is that they could snap apart when you play with them.Starting with Shazam, he looks exactly like he does in the movie whenever Billy Batson yells the name Shazam! Standing even at 6.00 inches and with modest articulation. Boots, knees, legs, waist, arm, shoulder, elbows, hands, wrists and head. The figure also has a good likeness to actor Zachary Levi. The figure’s accessory is the Sin of Wrath, a red horned demon with its hands fused.Superhero Freddy looks as he does when Freddy Freeman yells the name Shazam! Just like Billy, he stands at even at 6.00 inches with the same articulation as before and a very good likeness to Adam Brody. This figure’s accessory is the Sin of Pride, a white-winged demon with its legs separated and hands fused.Superhero Mary looks as she does when Mary Broomfield yells the name Shazam! Unlike the boys, she stands at 5.75 inches with the same articulation but includes long hair which doesn’t inhibit head movement but a skirt which does inhibit her articulation around her legs, as well as a good likeness to Michelle Borth. This figure’s accessory is the Sin of Sloth, a light blue demon with each arm dragging/fused to its leg.Superhero Eugene looks as he does when Eugene Choi yells the name Shazam! The tallest of the lot, he stands at 6.50 inches with the same articulation as before and with a decent likeness to Ross Butler. This figure’s accessory is the Sin of Gluttony, a fat yellow demon with its arms fused.Superhero Pedro looks as he does when Pedro Pena yells the name Shazam! Like the other boys, he stands at an even 6.00 inches with the same articulation as before and with a good likeness to D.J. Cotrona. This figure’s accessory is the Sin of Envy, a long-eared green demon with its arms fused.Superhero Darla looks as she does when Darla Dudley yells the name Shazam! The shortest of the lot she stands at 5.50 inches with the same articulation and with a half skirt that doesn’t limit movement as much as Mary’s skirt, as well as a nice likeness to Meagan Good. This figure’s accessory is the Sin of Greed, a four-armed orange demon with one set of arms fused.I got to say it's great having Freddy, Darla, and Mary the most but I enjoy having the whole family. Still, I only got Shazam to collect the Sin of Wrath. Because I will collect the DC Comics Multiverse version of Shazam.

Just as fun as the movie
These might not have the most articulation or the most precise sculpt but for $10 it’s a great figure. Durable, decent articulation, and a good likeness. In an era where we’ve been spoiled by marvel legends and Japanese imports sometimes it’s nice just to have a cheap fun action figure. My kids have enjoyed playing with it and I think he’d look ok amongst the other DC movie characters I’ve got.

Shazam
I bought three I think and I meant to get the 12 inch ones, but got the smaller ones- the boys still loved them, I was very fortunate!!

Gift
Was a gift and they loved it. It is smaller than previous ones that I have bought. But it was well liked when opened.

Fight among the kids
I actually bought 2 of these one for my office and the other for my nephew. It is a durable toy. I love my nephews but the older on can be very destructive Shazam has held up beautifully. Even though it was bought for the younger one. The other was bought to go with a quote as a reminder to myself I have a life outside of anxiety.
